Feds gave ECF/PACER to Mississippi after Katrina I believe. Mississippi E-Filing is so damn easy and cost efficient. You pay your initial filing fee, done. None of this "per exception/per rule/per motion" nonsense.

This is common with every Clerk of Court's Office. I was actually looking through one of my records one day, only to discover that there were pleadings from not one, but two, other cases in my record. I pointed it out to the deputy Clerk and she just shrugged her shoulders.

I’m not sure St. Helena has a computer in their Clerks office. Would be a disaster. Almost used St Tammanys feature the other day but sadly I have only e filed a few things and it’s all been in federal bankruptcy court. FedEx seemed easier.

If you've never looked up old records at a rural clerk of court, you're missing an experience.
Not a lawyer, but I do that sort of thing from time to time.

The whole industry from those handling the work to the attorneys offices themselves will be shifting to e-everything
It’s coming soon, I know my field will be completely shifted to paperless soon and this will even include e-signature, we are already started preparing for the shift. It will be a requirement sooner than later but you know Louisiana is behind on everything, Orleans Parish especially so
I already know big time collections practices had a huge shift to paperless a few years back for security reasons, audited almost on a daily basis. You have a better chance of getting into some prisons than some of these offices
This will slowly swallow more and more fields but it will hit the ones dealing in sensitive information like social security numbers and credit information first. This shift will likely occur before even e-filing

I suspect a lot of small parish clerks of court do not want it because it could eliminate jobs and their ability to screw people out of money. As with just about everything in Louisiana I suspect local politicians haven't figured out a way to get their piece of the loot

Every Louisiana court I've dealt with uses it.
I've only dealt with 24th, CDC, Fed tho.

Years ago, I had to chase down some assets of a defendant in Woodville, Ms. I had never used a handwritten index, and I asked the lady for help.
Her answer to "how do I search the index"..."Like this" as she starts running her finger down the list.
