Unfiltered with Kiran has filed suit against the East Baton Rouge City-Parish, specifically, the Baton Rouge Police Dept. & Chief Murphy Paul, accusing them of violating UWK’s First Amendment rights.

The lawsuit was filed on Dec. 2, 2022 in federal court in Baton Rouge asking for an injunction.

UWK believes in the First Amendment and the freedom of the press. It is crucial that the public’s right to know be protected and the free flow of information, particularly about our public bodies and its officials, not be impeded.

UWK believes it is our obligation to standup for these important rights and it’s what we’re doing.

Thank you so much for your support.

The suit is attached below:

Looks like Paul is about to cost the city even more money in attorney fees because he refuses to add Chawla to the email list

Chawla has Jill Craft handling the suit. Should be a good one

This is going to get interesting. Kiran is the star in the dark Baron Rouge sky.

I wonder it other media outlets will even mention it, especially WBRZ. I bet there won’t be a peep outta them.

Jill is very selective and rarely takes on cases that aren't winnable.

Not even close. Jill takes any case that is going to stir up shite and cause a ruckus. Exactly because she doesn't give a frick, she scares the shite out of people.

It’s gonna be ok that Kira. Gets paid out for this. Paul did it to stop himself and the mayor from being asked difficult questions.

Like when he fires officers and then they get their job back after filing suit.

No one is gonna ask difficult questions in this city or it’s gonna cost the tax payers

I ran for city council when I was 25 and out of 6 people I was elected into a runoff.

You can find the results here.

Nakamoto will go after some Iberville Parish school board member who was late paying his cable bill instead of covering this.

I may not agree with you on many topics but good on you for putting yourself out there to try to advocate for your beliefs. I think every politician starts out that way, it's a shame when the power and the money of politics corrupts their principles.

For example I didn't agree with much of Obama's agenda but when he ran for his first term one of the main points (that I did agree with) was ending the sanctioned spy network built during the Bush administration under the Patriot Act. When he got in power he realized the benefits to this system (from power perspective) and chose to expand it. I digress.

Nakamoto is trying to keep his gay affairs from coming out. He won’t stir the pot too much.

Murphy is a fricking moron.. sad how black southern leaders routinely suppress opposition knowing damn well how it affected their own community.. as soon as some gain power they abuse the shite out of the very system they wanted changed.

To be honest, I liked the campaigning part, but the one thing I learned that the job itself.. It wasn't/isn't for me.
