I am seeing posts on Facebook of someone's child or grandchild getting ready to graduate from kindergarten. They are even wearing caps and gowns.

What is this nonsense? I mean what is the big deal that a kid spent a few months playing with blocks and creating refrigerator art?

dude every year yall post some dumb shite like this.....kindergarten graduation has been a thing since the freaking 80s. im 43 and did it with cap and gown all 36 years ago.

Are you pretending like you didn’t know this has been happening, and in fact is quite common and widespread, for decades?

Seems legit, after lunch it is nap time. Onesies are more now, but gowns are more old school. We talking real bed caps or just mommas old panty hose cut off and knotted at the top?

So you were seven years-old when you got out of kindergarten - and probably 23 when you got out of high school.

It seems like there's a really specific reason why this bothers you.

Thought Kindergarten graduations was the norm. I wore a cap and gown to mine back in the late 80s, and my kid is wearing one to his in a couple weeks. He’s excited to move on to “No Nap School” as he likes to call it.

Kind of why kids are so fricked up now and have no respect for authority. They need to be knocked down a peg or two and made to feel irrelevant instead of junior prima donnas.

We did this way back in 2000. It was not very formal. It was just a fun thing to do with the family at the end of the year.

They had that for me when I was in preschool, although I don't think kindergarten.

I think it was just a cute thing back then, although now some parents probably treat it as an actual serious thing.

Seems dumb but it isnt really worth bitching about. There's no harm in it. Let the parents and the kids have their joy in it and move along.

Exactly! In many of those cases that child is the first in the family to graduate from kindergarten.

My class had a kindergarten graduation back in 1972 and I don't remember making refrigerator art it was probably a cigarette ash receptacle.
