re: Kevin Costner seemed to be a joy to work with

In short, he had so many demands on “Yellowstone,” and the shooting schedule
For fella that's done Dances with Wolves and Open Range everyone around the YS production team is better now for listening. Western's are incredibly hard to do right and KC knows how to do it.

Used to love the show, but the latest season is like >50% montages of no dialogue and nothing but rodeo B-roll and bro country music.

Cast a notoriously difficult actor, act surprised when he is in fact, difficult to work with

The show would be better if they got rid of Jamie, and kept John Dutton. At least let them shoot each other at the same time.

Meh, Costner’s worth like $400 million from what ive read, so who can blame him for making demands .

My wife met him while he was filming the Coast Guard movie in Shreveport. He was very personable and approachable. He was just between takes out playing with his dogs at LSU S.

In a battle of who is a bigger prick, Sheridan vs. Costner would be a toss up.
Sheridan went from a c lister at best to an a lister thanks to Costner’s pull on Yellostone early. Now he is biting the hand that feeds him.

I have seen a lot of spectacular concerts at the Endymion Extravaganza but by far the biggest dud was when they let Kevin Costner sing for an hour and a half. Seemed to be a nice guy though.

Also, do shows need big name stars? They need good writing and acting but are movie stars worth the money and hassle? Esp a guy whose prime was 30 years ago? I think of some of the best shows and many had no big movie star names, like Sopranos or Breaking Bad.
Hard to say.. when Costner was cast in Yellowstone, he was still considered by most to be a faded star, though he had had some decent blips on the radar over the prior decade like Draft Day and Hatfield/McCoy…. Now that the show’s been a hit for the last 3 or 4 yrs, and KC is a bigger star- who is to say if the show needs him, or if he needs the show ? I would guess the latter, but it’s hard to know since even the other iterations of Sheridan’s shows have had big names, and now the latest talk is of bringing in Matthew McKindagay…. but i guess we’ll find out .

Ya his reputation here was always great. Everyone who interacted with him said he was super nice, and the fact he continued to film after with Mr Brooks endeared him even more locally.

That show blows anyway.
It did, but it had so much potential.
Of course you're right about Costner too, btw.

This is an article written by a 7 year old I think that keeps getting posted on any tiny website that will allow it.

There’s people on this board that have actually worked with him, and they’ve stated he is incredibly nice.
I've heard the same things.

Awesome, guess I don't need to watch anymore. Thanks, Richard...

Being a nice guy and easy to work with is the exception not the rule for Hollywood stars
Posted on 9/16/23 at 8:23 pm to RedRifle
Probably just didn't want to do it

me say this… I’ve only watched like 4 full episodes… and I love Sheridan, I love Costner, I love Hauser, I love Montana, I love Bingham, I love the music, I love Native American mysticism… however, I just can’t get into it.
Well that’s about as fair of a take as anyone could ask.
