The show would be better if they got rid of Jamie, and kept John Dutton. At least let them shoot each other at the same time.

Jamie’s awkwardness with potential for greatness reminds me of Pacino in the beginning of Godfather. It’s the over the top ridiculousness of Beth that ruins the show.

That's exactly why having that kind of money—especially when you made it by doing something frivolous like entertaining—is not good for people's mental and emotional health.

Studies indicate that it's extremely common for people in that position to vastly overestimate their talent/intelligence/ability, to start believing that they are fundamentally better than "average people," and that the lack of financial consequences for their decisions (even terrible ones) starts to lead them to believe that they will experience no significant negative consequences for any decisions made about any aspect of their lives (health, relationships, etc.). It basically wrecks people's character.

It's also difficult for people at that level to have real friends because there are so few people to whom they can relate in their situation and also because they don't trust people who aren't in a similar position.

That's why these really rich movie stars think they need to lecture everyone else on political topics like Climate Change, but they see nothing wrong with continuing to circle the globe on a whim in private jets. It's why they get married on a whim and divorced on a whim and none of them can stay married. It's why Michael Jackson kept having plastic surgery until his face started having rouble holding together without sliding off his skull and why he kept diddling little kids even after he had been caught multiple times.

It's why so many of them end up lonely and addicted to something. And some of them end up killing themselves. Either consciously and deliberately or subconsciously and slowly.

It's tempting to want that sort of money, but it's probably better for the vast majority of people to not have it.

Ending up retiring ten or twelve years early with 4 million dollars in the bank after a career's worth of hard work and stability and solid relationships with other humans in business and family and real friendships is a great goal, IMO. But the research says that having 400 million dollars for pretending to be someone else on camera is not conducive to a happy existence, believe it or not.

Will they kill him off like Trey and Matt did Chef in South Park after Isaac Hayes issued his demands? It was emphatically made clear that Chef was graveyard dead, not coming back.

Also kill off Beth too or at least make her not so fricking ridiculous.

Hands down the worst character. Also most annoying.

I stopped watching Yellowstone two seasons ago.

IMHO 1883, 1923 and Tulsa King are much better Sheridan works. I found Mayor of Rock Ridge too vulgar and revolting.

I played in a golf tournament with him one time (maybe 20 years ago) up in the mountains, he was in the foursome ahead of ours ... he was incredibly nice. Funny as heck, great sense of humor. And he was super big at the time, in terms of star power. Helluva golfer too. Big sports fan.

Ive never met Costner, but by many accounts here in this thread alone, he seems like a decent guy.. and he SEEMS well adjusted, though of course no one knows for sure about someone they dont actually know .

Not touching that, but im guessing u spend an inordinate amount of time on the PoliBoard .

Michael Jackson is maybe THE most famous person to walk the planet in the last 100 years, if not then he is in the conversation with only a handful of other humans .. you cant compare that type of fame to anyone who’s been a movie star or musician or artist who isn’t THAT ridiculously famous .

Have you seen the statistics on loneliness in America in 2023 in the general population ? And the addiction stats ?? Meth alone is an epidemic in flyover country and everywhere… zero to do with celebrity .

Also not sure if you mentioned it or if i missed it in ur lengthy diatribe- but the divorce rate in America last i checked hovers around 50%, again zero to do with celebrity … your post just kinda doesnt make sense on any level .

Costner spent some time in Shreveport back when movies were being filmed there after Katrina.

Someone I knew personally was an extra and said Costner was nice to them.

Also I heard he was nice to people around town.

That’s all I got.

He showed up in Mudbugs in 1991 when he was filming JFK. Seemed nice enough back then. Of course that was $390 million ago.
