Holy shite! At the 9:30 mark that wind is coming.

Eta: Jesus, and it gets worse at the 10:30 mark.

“Is this the worst?” “I think so, it’s gotta be”

That was nuts.

During gustav we drove to the back of the property in the eye. ... And got stuck.

Walking the two miles back I saw something like that. Later we realized it was from a tornado touching down very near us. At 300lbs and staying low, I got blown about 20-30ft while trying to run.

I can't imagine it as widespread as a hurricane. That is INSANE.

When a person who has been through and seen all that he has you can believe it when he says "I've never seen anything like this."

The sobering thing is that it was not the worst. The foliage had not been removed from every plant yet. Even the palms were pretty bare in the aftermath.

Gonna go ahead and say a prayer nothing close to that EVER hits New Orleans because we would be decimated.

Damn, that's nuts. To take a direct hit like that has to be just surreal when the eye goes over. You've got people thinking damn, I'm glad that's done with. Nope...it was just the first half.

No way in hell I would stay on one of those islands out in the Caribbean or Bahamas while a 'cane is packing those kind of winds and water. No fricking way man.

The eye actually provided some relief for them. There were a few spots that endured the eye wall the entire time.

I was just there at the end of July and I can tell you, there is nowhere to hide. Especially from a Cat 5. There were a lot of pine trees, but they were not very big at all. So, there is nothing to slow the wind down at all. That video was crazy. Definitely feel for those people.
