I doubt the mom stole 100 million. How could jewel not notice millions upon millions missing? Or see her mom buying extravagant stuff? How does one spend 100 million under your nose?

In the old days Fred MacMurray and Red Skelton had the same business manager.
MacMurray met with the manager weekly, insisted on frequent financial reports and even occasional audits. FM ended up one of the richest actors in H'wood.
Skelton let the manager take care of everything. Eventually a crisis arose forcing the manager to tell Skelton about his financial situation.
They met in a Las Vegas hotel room. The manager told Skelton he as broke due to "bad investments".
Skelton's preteen son had recently died of leukemia. Supposedly he said, "You even steal from little kids, too?", grabbed the guy, and shoved him partway through an open window, holding him by his legs (the same thing Don Arden* allegedly did to Robert Stigwood, and Biggie Smalls to Vanilla Ice)

Yep. Atz Kilcher Sr. on the show "Alaska: The Last Frontier". He's about as down to earth as you can get living off the homestead his father got when he immigrated to Alaska many years ago.

That sucks and all but I have a hard time believing she was ever worth anywhere close to $100 million. Not even if you account for inflation. There are some huge artists out there that are not worth that much.

I don't understand why Jewel didn't notice. It's a massive amount of money. When I think of embezzlement, I view it as a sneaky process. No way was this sneaky.

How do you not realize your mom has stolen 100 million? She didn’t simply steal it and put in the bank. She bought shite with it. She didn’t blow 100 mill on trips to Walmart. She bought expensive shite. If mom is suddenly living a very high end lifestyle, red flags should immediately go up.

I get a few million, but how does one allow it to get to 100 mm? I think after about a couple, I’d be wondering wtf is going on. But I keep a close eye on my money.
