I've heard that his stomach is supposed to be the joke of the picture. They had some sort of white trash themed party and the lady in the picture is actually pregnant and couldn't button her shorts. He is too fat for his pants and couldn't button them, so since they both could not button their pants, they had their picture made together.
Heard that on a radio show.

Not his first scandal. Students are kicked out for drinking, but he is on surveillance video out clubbing.

"Leave of absence" = "I'll hide out until the furor dies down, then I'll return".
This is a common tactic used in many circles: have the head person "apologize" for what happened, they go away to "get their life in order" (and to allow the organization to rebuild itself), then they quietly come back as if nothing has happened. In fact the person may then turn around and fire those who "forced" him to go away as punishment.

If this is the story then I don't understand why this would lead to him losing his job.. Or is dressing like white trash the black face for white people?

That's just the story, not sure if it is true. I think the bigger issue is that he is open about partying despite being the President of one of the largest Christian universities out there. This isn't the first time his partying has gotten him into hot water.

Pretty sure I’m the other big thread about the picture last week there was a video and some other stuff that painted him in a bad light

He probably had a hernia repair mixed with being fat. Incision usually causes a divot and fat obviously makes it worse.
Also in the thread on this the other day there was a link that brought you to a video. There was definitely some kind of party as there was a video showing him and her both dressed like that interacting with other people. It's a weird arse story.

just not a good look for those casting stones at all us sinners from the yacht.

Apparently he also called into to a radio show to explain while drunk out of his gourd

Here's the radio show transcript. He's drunk, no doubt.

He’s exposing his underwear and flashing that fat gut and yet he’s worried about people thinking he has a glass of alcohol.
And it’s a Trailer Park Boys themed party. Not exactly wholesome tv watching he’s been doing.

quote:In general, me either. At LSU, that's just Party Pics.
I don't see the problem here.
But under the Liberty code of conduct, posting that picture would get a student suspended. It's only fair for the school president to go through the same process.

Good move by the board. Pastors and religious leaders should be held accountable for even the smallest mistakes. This isn't the first time, so the punishment seems to fit the crime.

Religion is the biggest scam in the history of mankind. These "evangelists" and pastors know it. People are so gullible. Especially southern Americans.

Men making mistakes in a fallen world doesn't mean the entire institution is a lie. Being a pastor might be one of the toughest jobs out there in the modern social media age.
