Because their political dogma is both broken and blinding.
The rich white progressives in Nola vote the same way the poor blacks do, and together they comprise about 80% of the electorate here, if not more.
I guess I use the frog and boiling water analogy. It’s been slow steady decline over decades and people in Nola generally don’t pay attention to much outside of the metro Nola area.
Living here well over a decade now, I see it so clearly. They accept that this level of crime and dysfunction is tolerable because of “culture” and restaurants and festivals. And yes, some might be squawking for change now, but they will do nothing.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

We lived in Shenandoah before we moved to Texas and I started to see the crime leaking into the area. Lots of apartments and affordable housing being built into all the new developments.
edit: Shenandoah also has a ton of rental houses because the houses used to be really affordable.

If she planned this why aren't they both charged with 1st degree murder with it clearly being premeditated?
