The complete bastardization of data is what has been bugging the fricking hell out of me the most throughout this ordeal.
When the capacity to test for coronavirus is a moving variable, number of positive tests is a completely irrelevant data point. We cannot definite “flattening the curve” by this; it would be an egregious misuse of data.
Flattening the curve should be defined as a stabilization or decrease of inpatient admissions due to suspected cases of coronavirus as defined by specific criteria (negative flu test, bilateral perihilar pneuomonia, fever, dry cough etc). These numbers are easily and readily available to the state and should be published daily.

They did ask him. He said it’s too early to know at this point

He said those won’t start populating till next week since we are on day 13 in Louisiana, and the incubation is 14 days.
I mean what the frick am I missing here?

Louisiana is behind on recoveries too.
Once we start testing for recoveries we will be the fastest recovering state. JBE playing 4D chess.

Cases does not equal imminent death. Much like...wait for it...the flu.
I like how no one claimed this, and the question even assumed this to be true, but you still felt the need to interject “muh flu.”

See yellowfin gets it for the slow guy up there. If they release the cases versus sent home/not hospitalized then the public impact would be minimal. That’s why they aren’t releasing it. Trust me it’s tracked
We’ve already seen stats that only small percentages are hospitalized. It isn’t some hidden fact.

This state is lead by incompetent officials at every level. Believe me - your state leaders won’t save you from a fricking thing. If you don’t figure out to save yourself in Louisiana, you’re doomed.

His answer was “I don’t know”.
Then how does he know that hospitals will be overwhelmed in a week?
Posted on 3/22/20 at 3:57 pm to Catchfalaya
One of them was a patient in hospital. His wife was staying with him and she ended up with it. They have both been sent home on self quarantine.

Because he’s inciting panic and really has no friggin clue. He honestly said I don’t have those numbers available whose in the hospital with Covid. Like hello your shutting down the state because you don’t want hospitals overwhelmed with Covid patients, but you don’t know whose in the hospital with Covid! You can’t make this stuff up!
Posted on 3/22/20 at 4:00 pm to Catchfalaya
There are people in the hospital being treated for the CV even though their test has not come back yet. Those people aren’t in the 800 cases which tested positive.

More than 1 out of 20 infected with something that spreads faster than flu getting hospitalized is small?

Yeah, I am guessing he isn’t doing this just for fun. He knows it isn’t looking good for Louisiana.

This assumes that we are detecting ever infection. I dont think anyone believes that to be the case.

Actually, it doesn’t. Number is around one out of every five if you want to assume that.

At least they got tested.
Know of somebody who went in with over 101, throat burning and about to fall over this morning. Was told she did not have shortness of breath and breathing problems so did not qualify. Repeat of the 39 year old that got sent home in NOLA, want back in and died waiting for test results.

Someone did. He wouldn’t/couldn’t answer, of course.
