Williams acquitted on all counts.

Called it and I was made out to be an idiot when I said he would get off when the trial started because the feds were prosecuting him and they don't lose (paraphrasing).

I can't see this being anything more than a show trial. I know it's the feds, but JW is on the right (left) side.

He will either be found not guilty or get a slap on the wrist.

That’s been the case for a long time. Its actually the standard defense.

Not necessarily. There is a reasonableness there and blame can be proportional.

Problem is that the government typically dismisses it out of hand because, by signing the return, you are affirming everything is correct.

You only had 2 replies to that message and neither hardly made you out to be an idiot but rather express their differing opinion.

Magner was Burdette's counsel

I think it was Billy Gibbons that was JW's right?

Being a Democrat politician in certain jurisdictions in this country is akin to being a white man accused of a crime against a black man in 1950's Mississippi.

Well, it was a federal trial. The jury pool was much larger than Orleans Parish and reached out to surrounding areas, who are decisively less pro Williams than the citizens of OP.

The jury believed he had plausible deniability.
