I watch some of those travel bloggers on YouTube and have noticed that with India, all of their “nicer” buildings were built by the British. They probably still use the same water and sewer systems built by the British. Hell, even the train cars they use look to be British. It leads one to ask if these nasty frickers have done anything for themselves in infrastructure since 1947 other than build some call centers?

I had the same thought when I went to India. They were so proud to be free from British rule, but it looked like nothing had been built or maintained since the 50’s. Probably was a nice place when the British were there.

I went down the proverbial rabbit hole and watched several videos of big production shops, mostly doing light to heavy duty metalwork. Those shops are pig sties with trash all over the place, enough so that the workers are walking through it with just about every footstep.
Huge industrial machines with little to no safety feature in place, workers wearing loose fitting clothes and most either barefooted or in sandals. Forget about any hard hats.
Hell, even their "Sacred" Ganges River is a cesspool filled with trash, the occasional half burned body from the funeral pyres they do near the rivers edge and untold amounts of human waste since they think nothing about dropping trou and pinching off a loaf right then and there.
That country is a shithole.

Between the disgusting hygiene, trash everywhere, crowds, smells, constant scammers, shitting in the streets, and general disgusting filth… India is a place I’d rather go to prison than visit.
