IYO.

priorities evolve when a couple has children, yes. Just because his priorities are different than yours. It doesn’t mean they are wrong.

There is a significant difference between 1 child, and 2, and 3.

there’s also a difference between teenagers/young adults and children as the OP seems to indicate he has.

While I’ve been playing sports regularly for 40 years and lifting weights for 30, I’ve progressively improved through the years.

I still drink and eat bad foods here & there, although less than pre-kids (2). The biggest advantage has been so much access to Health & Wellness information. If I had that information at a younger age, we would’ve won state. I would be throwing the ball over dem mountains.

While the group "don't give them junk" crowd sounds off, you literally don't have time to prepare all these different foods every night or every other night.

Thats why you meal prep. I would agree having to cook every single night is impossible.

Cooking a large amount on Sunday and then again on a random week night, for the week is much easier and more sustainable.

i think its because kids want junk food so the parents give it to them and then buy it for themselves.

johnny wants canes, jackson wants sonic, etc...Then you the parent are putting down a 2000-calorie meal you purchased at a fast food place.

People feed their kids nowadays by asking them what they want to eat

This has been a strange trend growing where parents are essentially short-order cooks for their kids.

Back in the day you ate what they cooked, or you could have cereal.

Spoken like a true American.
Are you entitled to variety?
Ate up with consumerism?
Do you eat lunch out every day?

People that look really good past the age of 25 are usually disciplined as hell. Boring is good in this regard.

It’s just what it takes.

I hate this phrase. Why can’t people just say “healthy food”?

yeah its pretty easy, you give it to them at a young age so they dont learn to hate vegetables from their stupid friends who only eat chicken nuggets.

My dad alwasy cooked us meals and i always ate my veggies. I never disliked them ever in my life.

My friends would sleep over and not touch their vegggies and i know why. When i slept over at their house we basically only got hot dogs or pizza. their parents didnt cook.

My dad cooked home cooked meals for my friends. he even got one to eat his spinach once and my friend was like holy shite, my parents cant cook this is actually good.

i workout at home and run with the stroller for cardio so it is isn't much different than before kids

i drink a lot less now than i did before because no matter how much I drink the kid still wakes up at 7.

that is just one kid. I can see how there would be exponential growth of my arse with every additional kid

Everything is easier without kids… but life would be way less fulfilling without them.

Try to get me to eat that every night, I'll report you to Amnesty International.

I agree with OP, we never had much junk food or sodas in the house, cooking healthy meals takes less time than going out for fast food and junk, and a hell of a lot cheaper. I have very good kitchen skills, but turning out a wok full of stir fried rice with meat and veggies is pretty easy.

The secret to healthy fast meals is to keep it simple.

Fats just look for any excuse to justify being fat so they don’t feel bad about it

Easier to find time with kids? Yea, that's a no.

You may be finding time, you may be rearranging things in your life to make it work.. But in no way, shape or form is it actually easier to find time with kids, that makes no sense.

Give them a choice. Eat it or go to bed without dinner

That’s what my parents did
