Its easier to live a healthy lifestyle with kids as opposed to without

Not sure why so many obese folk claim they are fat because they have kids, no time to cook, no time for gym, etc.
Since becoming parents, its actually been easier for the wife and I to eat clean and find time for the gym.
Just the thought of loading up a child and having to get them to sit still in a restaurant is enough for us to want to stay home and eat. No more temptations of going out to trivia during the week, or stopping on the way home from work for a beer. Meal prep 1-2 days a week and don’t have to think about where food comes from.
Sad to see so many Americans feeding their kids garbage instead of setting a good example with clean food.

These are the folks who think that parenting is tossing their kid an iPad.

Easily without.
Id like to eat grilled chicken and green beans almost every night.
Try to force your kids to eat that and see how much fun that is.

Bravo. People feed their kids nowadays by asking them what they want to eat when they should be cooking up a healthy meal and serving it to them.

If they never have a french fry or chicken nuggets, how will they know they want it?
Don’t introduce them to junk

It’s always been easy, your priorities are what’s changed.

It's easier going to the gym without kids, but I've found I've been eating healthier with a kid. I'm less likely to go out to eat during the week with a kid and I want him to eat healthy, so I end up eating healthy too.

And there you are. That was really quick. And therein is the problem.

Eating healthier? Sure I can see that.
But it has to be much more difficult to spend 1-2 hours in the gym 6-7 days a week with kids versus without.
I’m just speculating though as I have no kids.

I feel like I spend a lot of time in the Chick-fil-A drive through so can’t relate

Don't try to reason with him. He just needed an excuse to tell the OT for the 500th time that he goes to the gym

Its really not. One of us goes before work, the other after. Weekends we either rotate going or bring her with us and drop off at gym daycare. Enjoys playing with other kids.
The average person doesn’t need to go 6-7 days a week. Maybe 4-5

Let me guess, you work from home with a MWF schedule. Get off your high horse. Work 50-60 hours and week and get back to me.

One of their friends parents will surely get Canes or Mickey D’s for their kids and your kids when going to a movie or something, and then it’ll be Katy bar the door.

Eating healthy, I see that, abandoning any hope of going out in public with kids. The gym, no. Let's be real, it's easy for YOU to leave your wife at home with the kids, while you go to the gym. That's what you're really saying.

Of course, you’d have to actually be in charge to effect this discipline.

Yeah it’s real easy for him to just drop them off at gym daycare and go about his business. Impressive feat.

No idea was dirt arse poor when my first was born, didn't really start the attempt to get healthy until a few years ago.
