Someone had mentioned about two different strains or variants and Italy has the more deadly one, whereas we have the more mild one.
I've only heard that once, so that's for what it's worth. But, to me, it's the most plausible explanation I've heard

The videos I've seen over there everyone has these thick arse beards as well.
That can't be easy to keep clean and virus free. I shaved my big arse beard down to stubble to help cleanliness.
It was recommended. Maybe that's why Iran is getting trounced as well. They are hairy as hell also.

That's not the point, Oppenheimer. The point is that the U.S. took those precautions because of the numbers coming out of Italy. And that's a good thing. There is no reason not to continue our current precautions for another week or so pursuant to the CDC/Presidential guidelines.

I've read/heard little more than that and that if you get one you're immune to it and the other.
And something about videos of something being misted all over Wuhan that "could have been" the S-type to mass inoculate. Sounds like Ludlum stuff but so does everything now.

Thats not an appropriate way to compare data. You need to normalize to a certain infection point (say the day when the countries each reached 150 infections) and then plot the rates of infection starting from there. If you do that, you will see that our rate of infection from patient 150 and forward matches Italy's almost identically and is even starting to exceed.

As of right now we have 278 deaths. They had 631 deaths.
Per the same time frame Italy had 10,049 cases and we now have 22,177 cases. The days not over.

Rate of infection means jack shite right now because of increase in testing

Testing or not. We’d have a frick ton more deaths if our path was following Italy’s. It’s not.
