Virus deaths: Italy to USA
Day 3: 7 to 9
Day 6: 17 to 15
Day 9: 41 to 26
Day 12: 107 to 41
Day 15: 233 to 68
Day 18: 631 to 150

Can we please stop the "but we're a week behind" posts? We are nowhere near their numbers at the same points in time in dealing with this.

There has to be some other variable between the two societies.

How widespread was testing in Italy vs America at those points?

If all American patients who have died of respiratory infections over the last month have had pre or post mortem coronavirus testing at least twice, the comparison might be valid. If not, it may be conjecture. Either way, few if any of us on the OT is an epidemiologist. We don’t have all the data nor do most of us know how properly to evaluate it. No one here should speak as an authority.

Italy has sooooooooooooooooo many old people.

And that whole double-kiss thing.

Oh, and the deal with the Chinese devil in regards to trade.

And poor health care.

Also should be noted that the United States has more than five times the population.

What does testing have to do with deaths ?
We are now 2nd in the world in test per capita and will be first in a few days

Overall we are more spread out. The majority of them relied on public transportation and lived in more clustered communities that interacted with each other more.
