Why are you creepily rooting for this dude?

Why are you pooping on positive news?

It’s fricking weird

Also factor in the positives per number tested. Of course our infections are going to skyrocket because we’ve been testing exponentially more people every day.

He's a pretty fringe leftist

He doesn't want the US to outperform anywhere else so long as Trump is President

He is also just kneejerk reacting to the large number of people on here who are still calling this a "flu" 3 weeks later, so that part I get

That's fine. But I'm not worried about Italy's death toll. It's scary and I feel for that country. But I don't live there. I'm worried about this state and country I live in.

Also should be noted that the United States has more than five times the population.

What am I missing?
Ratios have nothing to do with absolute numbers.
And 17 upvotes?

Um Lombardy is a lot like Mississippi or north Louisiana. It's not like Rome where everyone is on top of each other

All American patients who have died of respiratory infections over the last month have had post mortem coronavirus testing? If so than the comparison is valid. If not, it’s just conjecture.

Because YNWA would absolutely sacrifice you, your family, and most other individuals for political purposes, such as getting Trump out of office.

Can we please stop the "but we're a week behind" posts? We are nowhere near their numbers at the same points in time in dealing with this.

I can't ell if you're saying that what we're doing is working to stem the tide or if you're saying there was no tide in the first place. Not sure how you establish that either way.

When the point to which I was responding was pretty stupid and doesn't merit a detailed answer.

I'm sorry your "And this got 17 upvotes?!?" wailing doesn't provide any motivation for me.

Italy is the size of California with double the population of California. Looking at percentage numbers in the difference between 65 million people vs. 330 million people, I would say at this point we are fairing pretty well at this point compared to Italy. However, if we do not nip this thing in the bud pretty quick we could see devastating numbers start to stack up.
Communities better buck up & really start to socially distance themselves. Keep your fricking shite head teenagers at home.
