Essentially yes, think of them like rocket-based artillery. The R-160 is more commonly known as the Khaibar-1. It is a Syrian-made rocket that is generally considered a loose copy of a Chinese rocket: W1 or WS1, something like that.

My buddy in Israel yesterday compared most of the rockets they fire into their area as shooting bottle rockets into your yard. You just aim and shoot. Theres no intelligence involved to get them to a specific target like we can.
Dunno if that is good or bad though

I think we are already involved. There's no way that carrier group hasn't started assisting if Hezbollah is attacking from the north.

I did some googling on those R-160 Missiles because I had never heard of them. They're allegedly Chinese-designed and manufactured in Syria.
Has China made an official statement on where they stand on all of this so far?

I believe Israel and the United States entered into a Joint Defense Agreement in place so that in the event the US or Israel is attacked either will back the other militarily.

I don’t think the US gets directly involved militarily unless an actual nation state starts attacking Israel. That’s why the carrier and other aircraft have been moved to the region, to dissuade other countries from getting involved.
