No my mom was an excellent cook, and my wife not so much. My wife would say the same thing. There are some things my mom cooked that we just can’t duplicate.

No. But if she asks this question, then yes.

This is complicated, because my mother was raised by a Lebanese immigrant. Nobody can cook Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dishes better than my mother, but when it comes to normal everyday American food, my moms cooking is pretty meh tbh.

I am however a great well-rounded cook all around. But somehow in relationships I almost always get stuck with a girl who can't cook for shite and grew up in a family where the dad cooks and the mom,is,equally as useless, so I generally get stuck cooking most of the time anyway.

Fiancée far surpasses my mom, grandma however wins by a long shot.

Edit: I will add that we pre-eat before going to dinner with my MIL. Her cooking is borderline inedible. No idea where my fiancée learned her skills from.

my fiance struggles to boil water.... but does all the 100% of the cleaning and other household shite and wouldn't have it any other way...so I'm more than happy to be the cook

My mom cooks mainly the same 5 dishes over and over, and it's always great. My wife will try different, sometimes fancy-ish, recipes. Sometimes it's fricking awesome, sometimes she makes an error and it's...okay. Not sure who is the better cook.

I’ll just say that my wife is well on her way to being as good of a cook as my mom.

Hell no. My wife's cooking, no two meals look alike, but they all taste the same.

My mom is a full blooded Italian that grew up in south Louisiana on a strawberry farm with seven sisters and brothers. That combination alone had her destined to be a great cook. Her cooking is divine.

My wife is too impatient to be a great cook. But, she has dinner on the table every night and has never been asked once to do so.

Wifey wins by a slim margin, but my mom is a terrible cook. Which isn’t weird because my grandmother was an outstounding cook.
