Not even in the same universe.
My mother takes pride in fixing even a cup of coffee.
My wife is not sure where our pots and pans are.

I feel like my mom is the youngest female I know who can cook.

No. Mom from south La. Wife from landmass.
In other words, I do 99% of the cooking in our house.

My mom is the only human I've ever met that could consistently cook Chicken and have you feeling like she just took a steak knife to one of her tires outside and then threw it on a plate.

My mom is a heath nut who's originally from Iowa. She always tried to make traditional southern and Louisiana food healthy and typically failed miserably. My wife is a country girl from the South and can cook her arse off.

Not even close. I do most of the cooking and learned it from my mom, who still puts my cooking to shame. GF is a distant distant 3rd.

Hard to answer. My mom is a better technical cook but my wife makes everything exactly the way I like it. They're both awesome.

my mom's cooking really fell off once I moved out. I used to be her taste tester and help her season everything. Now, she over-salts and never gets the balance right. I still think my mom is slightly better with a grill and a stove top, but my wife is vastly superior at baking, and her gumbo is way better too.

Jones's mom makes red sauce and red beans. That's it. But those two things are really good.

My mom cooks far better than she did when we were growing up. I imagine it is partly because I love cooking and she is competitive, and partly because we have far more access to cooking resources than we did pre-internet.

Jones does really well at the things he cooks too, but I do 90% of the cooking.
