Wife wins, but that's not really saying much. Although, my wife has some great recipes for baking (nothing that could top heypaul's wife, but good nonetheless).

Presently wife is a better cook than my mom. My mom and stepdad divorced 20 years ago and she has lost her edge significantly by not cooking much I’ve rthe last twenty years. However, my Wife’s present day cooking is not as good a my Mom’s used to be.
Neither one of them hold a candle to both of my Grandmothers.

Nah. There's aren't many people in this hemisphere that can beat my mom's cooking.

My mom cooked almost every night. My wife has cooked like 3 times since I met her. I don't let her

hell no. If I want something fried then I have to do it myself because she is afraid she will burn the house down and she is probably correct. My mother's cooking is great but she doesn't have anything on my grandma RIP

I had one grandma that was a pretty good cook but the other is maybe the worst cook I've ever met. When we would visit she would microwave cheese on a tortilla for dinner. Her only real recipe was SOS (shite on a shingle). That's gravy over a piece of toast for the uninitiated.

They're are both horrible cooks. My dad was an actual chef and I have always cooked when i want some home cooked meal.

My Dad , rip, loved to cook for my kids once he was retired. The man was an obsolute artist when it came to baking sweets.

Mom until she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, now she forgets to put half the ingredients and seasoning in what ever she cooks. 
The wife is a good cook, but nothing like mom back in the day.

yep....My mother, god bless her, couldn't cook. My wife however learned from the best there is her mom

I'm surprised by a lot of the posts here just because a lot of us were raised in the times of "instant" dinners - Hamburger Helper, instant mashed potatoes, Shake N Bake, etc. My mom cooked every night and it was fine, but nothing miraculous. Baked chicken legs, green beans, and Velveeta shells and cheese was a normal type of dinner for us.
Seems like food culture has really exploded.. but maybe that's just dining out culture?

My wife is Canadian, salt and pepper were exotic spices to her when were first married. Many years later, she has become a very good cook, but no my Mom had the edge on her growing up with Cajun ancestry on her side.

Certain things, my wife definitely cooks better but overall, I'd say my mom in a close one.

I hate to admit it, but my mother in law blows them both out of the water. She is a fantastic cook and probably one of the reasons I married my wife
