Honest answers only.

God bless my mom, she sure tried. Wife wins this one hands down.

No... Sad part is that my mom isn't even some kind of great cook.

Oh hell no, not even close. Of course, I cook more than my wife, so it doesn't matter so much. FWIW, I'm not a better cook than my Mom either...

They cook very different types of food. Mom is a great cook when it comes to old fashioned meat and potatoes, rice and gravy type stuff. Wife is better with "fancier" (for lack of a better word) stuff. When either of them try something out of their realm, it is not a good thing.

She is, but she thinks that bell pepper and jalapeno belong in EVERYTHING we cook.

My mom is the only human I've ever met that could consistently cook Chicken and have you feeling like she just took a steak knife to one of her tires outside and then threw it on a plate.

I love that woman a ton, but she can't cook for shite.

This. Wife can't cook a fricking Eggo. I'm on par with my mom, but different. She had her handful of things she does really well. I try a bunch of new stuff, some with great success, some not.

My wife was a different cook than my mom. Both were very good. My mom made things like stews, jambalaya, red beans, and gumbo.

My wife tended to make less down home style stuff, and was probably broader in what she made. After a few years of teaching her gumbo tasted like my moms, which was awesome.
