Is your household respecting your work from home?

Or do the wife/kids think its vacation time?
This thing has to be starting so many fights. Trying to work, spouse trying to manage kids. Kids going crazy. Spouse barges in asking for help. Other spouse on a call, gets frustrated.
Mental health has to be in the toilet in so many households.

My kids stay in their room, supposedly doing school work. My wife is an ICU nurse so I locked her out the house.

Both of us working from home, kids are grown so no problem with them. The labs are loving it though. One of mine wants to sit on my lap for my daily videoconference.

Yeah it's been working pretty well. I lock my door to my office at home and generally the wife and kids do their thing and act like I'm not at home. Makes it a bit easier since my wife can't work from home so she's just on full mom duty to keep the kids out of my hair

We are both working from home. She doesn't have to work 40 hours thankfully so she's handing the kids for a good part of the day. But let's just say that my kids (5 & 3) are exceeding the 1 hour screen time that everyone recommends. When our day is over we take them outside and play as much as possible, but TV & tablets are helping babysit, unfortunately.

Yeah and now everyone wants to do a zoom call “with your cameras!” so we can all feel more connected. I feel like they should be paying to watch the circus unfold behind me. Kids dgaf until someone says hello to them they get all shy and quiet. Go figure.

I already worked from home, and my office is in my attic, over my garage, so not simple to bother me anyway.

I work from home, my wife has to go into office 2-3 days a week still. Plus when she's home they have her on strict rules and logging time and all kinds of bullshite so it's nearly impossible for us to split up watching our son. So I do most of it and she takes over for small things like letting me go to the bathroom or cook food.

Wife is big 4 accounting and slammed.
I’m more geared around business development (face to face) and my employees (engineers) are extremely disciplined workers, so I have more latitude to sit with our youngest doing school work and feeding everyone. All kids are teens.
Leveling off on the boozing as well. This is much more drawn out than a hurricane.

We're taking turns taking breaks to keep our three year old and a one year old entertained, engaged, fed, napped, etc. as well.
We got kids the same age, not sure how you are both working from home and getting 40 hours. That’s an accomplishment making it work.
Honestly this seems to be really having an effect on my 3 y/o, I think he misses his routine and social interaction. We are doing our best to keep him engaged but he is definitely moody.

Wife is trying to keep them as on routine as possible. 5 and 3 year old.
She makes them do lessons like at daycare, then outside time for about an hour, then lunch and nap, then back outside. That's about the point where it starts deteriorating about 3ish and I'll stop working and help out.
Going surprisingly well, we shall see she has her OB appointment this morning and I'll be solo.

Not really
My SO has recently lost his ability to use his inside voice while on his own work calls
Our 3 dogs have decided that the only time they can loudly and aggressively lick their junk is when I’m on a call and/or trying to focus

We have a 3 year old and are experiencing the same. Ripped right out of their routine, doesn’t understand why we can’t go to the park, see her teachers, etc.
Add in a newborn to the mix which we had planned having some help from grandparents. But that’s been removed. All while I’m trying to manage my W2 job and our small business that has been dried up due to stay at home.
Yeah...it’s been a blast

Yep. I am out in my RV which I have turned into a private office. She is home schooling the kids like normal and I work a normal 8 - 4 schedule doing IT work. 98% of my job can be done from anywhere in the world as long as I can connect to my servers. I barely walk into our datacenter anymore.
