My Dad hates flying. Loathes it. So he has never had any interest going anywhere that the couldn't drive. Its why all of our vacations as a kid were long (like 2-3 months) road trips. Which was awesome on their own, but obviously limited us to the US and Canada mostly.
I'll never understand anyone that has no curiosity to travel other places. There are not many places on this Earth that I wouldn't agree to travel.

Before I went I had zero interest, but my wife is Italian and she wanted to go to Italy and I went. I loved it, I'd go again.

I enjoy road trips and there is so much to see right here. The only foreign trip I would consider would be Ireland or a Mediterranean cruise.

I fly a lot for work and it's completely zapped my desire to fly anywhere for leisure. Been to some places that were great like Italy (totally worth it) and some like Nigeria. Passport is currently expired and I'm good with that for now.

The wife and I just had this conversation regarding up coming trips. Sure there are things we want to see, but there is so much we haven't seen here. Want to knock out more National Parks and several small niche towns before jumping on that 8-9 hour flight.

Definitely not knocking this, either. My wife and I generally aim for two "big" domestic trips for every international trip. To me, the harder thing to balance is deciding whether to go somewhere new or to revisit somewhere we haven't been in a while but really enjoyed
