re: Is there anyone here who has zero interest in international travel?

Me for now. I'm doing a lot of personal stuff and only go to places in the states and intend to stay that way for a while.

The Swiss alps are beautiful on the Swiss side and the French side, and the drive from one side to the other was a very pleasant experience.

I left nothing anywhere that I’d care to fly over the Atlantic or Pacific to go get. The rest of the world is messed up.

USA has all I need and no worries about currency conversion, phone plans, electric sockets or cartel violence.

Arguably one of the weirdest posts I’ve ever read on this board.

I just got back from Italy specifically Rome and the Almalfi Coast.

It’s a lot of fukin work traveling overseas and learning about other cultures, but I always wanted to see the Colosseum in person.

Fantastic food and you lose 5 lbs in 2 weeks while eating deserts and more carbs than you have in your life.
Also is makes my SO excited all year in preparation, so her being happy is nice.

Depends on how much your partner wants to do it cause if they don’t, it’s not worth it.

Also you can travel to South America and stay relative to time zones with a lot more ease if you wish for example.


I look at life differently after traveling.

Is good for the soul.

No desire, really. I used to, but now I agree with those who say there’s a lot to see here. Have zero desire to fly anywhere.

Evidently me.

I’m too indolent to plan.

I’m trying to plan a trip to Europe next summer, but I don’t like crowds.

I am looking at small canal cruises. Like only 6-10 people in rural France.

I love international travel but in the United States - It’s just so much less hassle. I get where your co worker is coming from but I like to get the hell outta dodge - but after a couple weeks I’m ready to come home.

I saw a lot of international locations in the Navy and a few since then but I think our trip earlier this year may be our last. We're retired and it's feels like more of a hassle to go abroad. There are plenty of beautiful spots in the U.S. I haven't experienced so I think I'll focus on those when I travel.

The older I get, the less desire I have to travel internationally.. but, I absolutely love LIVING internationally.... Back home in the US, even though I was making a decent upper middle class income, I was priced out of America.. I literally could not afford anymore to be American.... not to mention all the toxic horseshite where people start bring up politics within 30 seconds of meeting them.


Currently I live in Southeast Asia, and it's everything I dreamed, and more.. Very reasonable cost of living, off the charts food options, and top-tier healthcare at dirt cheap prices compared to back home.. also as a late 40s Gen X divorced guy, the dating scene is not half-bad either . ..
