I just don't see that happening on that stretch of 3rd street. That's about as well lit and surveyed an area as you will get at 11pm on a weekday in BR. And to a male in his mid-40s? Just doesnt match any sort of logic for a random act of violent crime. Even dumb criminals typically arent that stupid.

Were they able to verify he actually went to a basketball game? That angle seems a bit dubious.

Do we think he could have wanted to disappear and did something to himself?
That seems to happen quite often when we hear about stuff like this when people go missing in Nola when they come to town alone

Quick sweep of this area came up with.l nothing. Purple marks indicate homeless encampments. Some junkies, but no bodies. Found a blue tarp all wrapped up to roughly human sized at the westernmost one but it didn't feel like anything was in it when I prodded it. So...whew

I’d check out Scenic Highway. The entire area is a dumping ground for bodies for NBR.

There are so many vacant, overgrown lots in the ghettos of BR. Obviously, I hope he's found alive but if he's not that's where I'd bet.

I was at the game and took a random photo near my seats in 220. Wide angle shot of the opposite side of the stadium. No idea where this dude was sitting--I zoomed and did not see the green cap/black shirt/blue jeans combo, but figured I'd post the image here just in case.

This was 7:01 PM CST according to my phone--about 30 minutes after the wife's reported phone call.

Another curious scene

Another man sized tarp, but nothing in it

One of the articles said he FaceTimed his wife from the game... Also from an article from his hometown news outlet:

Millard said Baton Rouge Police have surveillance footage of someone of a different race using his debit card.

“It shows a male using his card,” Millard said. “That’s all. We’re just at a standstill for more camera footage to be presented.”

Suprise suprise. Gonna be another black eye for the city. Out of town businessmen robbed and killed by the hood rats. Another unsolved murder for whitey.

Probably murdered him and dumped his body in the Mississippi River. Body might never be found.

Yeah that doesn't sound good. I think best case scenario was that he tried to disappear but that obviously doesn't appear to be the case. Probably some middle aged dad murdered over a few hundred dollars

That’s the problem with 21st century policing. They rarely perform any actual investigations. They sit back and wait for surveillance footage.

Absolutely is a shithole. My kid and I are looking at housing for next Year at LSU and all of those apartment complexes and some of those neighborhoods are crime ridden crap holes. 50-200 criminal incidents at each of those places over the last 2.5 years. Seems if LSU cared about safety they'd build more dorms.

I'm a LSU alum and BR area native and I've been encouraging the youngest to look elsewhere for college. Maybe LA Tech if she's just got TOPS. BR is no place for an 18 yr old girl to be living on her own for the first time. Sad.

Aren’t you planning on doing the same? You’ve been talking about relocating on this board for years now.

They are at an out of state school currently but want to return to Louisiana despite my lobbying against it. I thought I launched them out of here, but they have their own mind about these things

Yeah once the kids are gone in 2 years.

I don't know if you have kids or a daughter but would you feel comfortable sending your 18 yr old daughter to live around Lsu?

Sounds like this man's debit card was used on Florida and at the Greyhound Bus station

quote:

Millard says Nathan’s card was used twice Thursday morning, 23 February 2023, on Florida Street and at the Greyhound Bus Station.
