I won’t ever eat an off brand Oreo. I don’t care how cheap it is. They’ve got me. Sneaky delicious bastards.

You're missing out. I prefer Great Value Oreos to the real ones. I would also take their ice cream over Blue Bell.

Agreed, I’ve yet to find an HEB brand item that doesn’t pass as equal or better to name brand.

Hill Country Fare brand can be hit or miss, but the HEB branded items are great.

Some GV products are good some aren’t. GV bread is full of air.

I buy Great Value Honey Wheat for .98 cents/loaf.

Tastes the same as Nature's Own.

I refuse to pay over $3.00 for a loaf of bread.

The Paul Newman knock off Oreos are better than OG Oreos. They’re also more expensive.

Yes. The brand they are copying. The brand name item has the same production/distribution costs as the cheaper brand, yet gets to make a higher profit margin on it due to customer loyalty to the brand.

GV ice cream sandwiches are better than any name brand. My daughter always insisted on blue bell. The neighbor hood WM was out so I picked up the GV ones. Never again blue bell! The GV ones are GOOD. And about 40% cheaper

The milk is where it’s at. Milk is fricking milk and the Walmart brand is over a dollar cheaper than Borden or kleinpeter.

Not sure if it’s still the case, but back in the day, all BR gas stations got their fuel from Exxon.

Gulf, Amoco, Texaco, whatever, they all filled up at the BR plant. At least according to my old man who worked there.

If you took MGMT 3830ish at LSU, this was the way to win the game. My group made it to the top 10 in the country for a few weeks going off brand and the professor gave us an auto A for it.

I love store brands but it seems like the companies getting full price for the same product also have a decent business model.

I wont ever eat another Oreo name brand again even if they give it away free!!!

Once they went full blown SW as their overarching publicly traded corporate policy I vowed never to touch their products again. You may have all the rainbow Oreo's your hearts desire. My heart desires nothing that comes from their evil!!

Typically these off brand/grocery brand retailers have more negotiating power with manufactures and a better supply chain.

Not to mention brand name producers pay the big stores money for shelf placement, which eats into their margin.
