I thought his career was waning. Why the sudden revival?

Yes he was in North America. Largest ticketed concert crowd for a solo artist. Free concerts and outdoor festivals don't count. It's being debated because George Strait in 2014 sold more than 102K tickets. So Wikipedia still has him behind George . But it's looking like Tiger Stadium had over 120k fans in there by some counts.

Now The rest of the world doesn't value public safety and will shove 300k fans into a soccer stadium.

The real point wasn't actually going to the show, but to take a thousand photos to post on Facebook and Instagram

I think the attendance would make it the largest ever attended in the US, not world wide though.

WTF? Louisiana was been on lockdown more than any other state in the South throughout the bullshite pandemic. It sounds like folks enjoyed the hell out of that concert.

Yeah, you kind of did. If you weren’t there you were somewhere else.

I don’t even know what a Ween is, and do you, it might have been. But for me, Garth was great. I grew up singing those songs and doing them on karaoke, and so it was amazing for me.

I wasn’t going to go see Garth because I think he’s very cheesy but from what I’ve always seen, he does put on a hell of a show and he’s a legend in country music. Sure, I like George Strait and others way more but Garth is a legend and nobody in their right mind can disagree with that. Him coming to Baton Rouge was a big deal. Get over it.

What a bunch of assholes for wanting to share happy memories for friends and family and to see when they pop up as memories for years to come.

He's not just playing Baton Rouge on this tour, you know. He's playing a bunch of large stadiums. Garth is a popular artist for good reason, and due to his deals regarding the distribution rights to his music, it is difficult to hear his music via pirating or streaming. He also took a significantly long break from live performances. As a result, there is significantly more pent-up demand to see him than there has been supply for quite some time, resulting in him being able to support massive crowds like he saw Saturday night.

Great artist, great show, etc. He goes to any major city and unless you are intimate with the show, you prob don’t even know he’s in town.

Maybe I don't understand you're post, but Garth Brooks breaks records in ticket sales for his concerts. He's had to add additional concerts in the past. He recently added one in Charlotte, NC for this tour because the tickets sold out so quickly. He sold 40,000 tickets in Salt Lake City in 40 minutes.

quote:

Since the tour began in March 2019, Brooks has broken 24 attendance records and has sold an average of 90,000 tickets in each city. His largest single show so far on this trek is Baton Rouge with a sell out of 102,000 ticket sellout in two hours for this weekend at Louisiana State University.

This article has additional sellout and record breaking info. I think people know when he's coming to town unless they live under a rock.

Lots of folks in Louisiana also attended Jazz Fest and other festivals and events across the state this past weekend.

I've read the US record is near 107K and with them selling at least 102K to the general public, when you consider all the tickets not sold to the general public... I would not be shocked to see it close to 110K.

That stadium was absolutely packed including the field.

It was only because 1)it was in TS 2)he has a song about baton rouge

Pretend he doesn't have a song that mentions louisiana and put it at literally any other venue and people don't give a frick nearly as much as they have the past 2 days.
