Not too old at all. Went through adoption process a few years back and there are people in mid 50s adopting kids and foster parenting. I think it is awesome.
Now if you are a bit selfish of your own time it might not be that great. Most older parents have time and WANT to spend a lot of time with kids. Kids raised with older parents sure get raised with a different perspective than kids with young parents.

I started young and I'm glad I did. I'll hopefully still be young and healthy enough to truly enjoy my grandchildren when that day comes. As is, I should be able to retire by 55 and enjoy life. Having a 10-12 year old at 55 would shut that down for me. Maybe that's selfish.
Having kids later means you're more financially capable of giving them the best childhood, but I do see a downside to it, being around 60 when they graduate high school, 70 when the grandkids come.

I was 40. She was 38.
You may want both you and Your wife to get in shape, do one of those 2 week hung ho sessions.
Best thing in life is the day in day out wonder and love.
Its an ordeal made easier by having friends Who also have kid same age. This will be invaluable.

Of course. Issue may arise when the child is old enough to see his/her parents are older than the others. You will have to challenge that with as much energy as the younger husbands do, you can't just sit back and watch other dads take your place at activities. Wife as well, especially with daughters. (and whether or not u now feel this is a big deal, it certainly will be with your child). But it will be great!

I have 3 kids and are in my late 30s.
There is zero chance i would ever have another kid. I am wayyyyy done with ever dealing with an infant again.

Wife and I were 42 when we had twin boys. I was pretty bummed when we found out but man, it’s been awesome. They are two now and we are having a blast. Keep in mind we have a 23 yr old son, 12 year old daughter and the twins. 
Kids require a lot of time, energy and money, but it’s worth it.

It would be cool to be in the stage where you’re not working as much to have a kid in his teens and 20s. You can give way more quality time that younger parents can’t always give

I'm 41, wife is a career minded 30. We both do not want kids at this time. I have two kids from my 1st marriage
We both agreed I would not get clipped until I turned 45. By that time we will have given each other ample time to decide what we wanted to do in regards to children.

Nah. Had our kids when husband was 42 and 48 and it has been fine. We are a lot more tired with the younger one but that is because she is a firecracker.

I'm 52 and I couldn't imagine having a kid right now. I have two sons both in their mid twenties. I started early.
