This doesn’t surprise me at all because Louisiana and Georgia are the most liberal states in the SEC by far. Some of the most far left woke liberal lunatics in the country are from Louisiana.

This thread is specifically about black ghetto culture. Has that become an issue in Utah?

For some reason, LSU became hell bent on increasing enrollment. The growth on campus since I graduated in 2009 is crazy. New dorms and living quarters are everywhere. The area north of campus to the freeway has been a shithole for years.

The solution to cleaning up campus is easy. Make admissions tighter. But…I doubt they would do that. Baton Rouge isn’t a college town, it’s a capital city. That’s why you can’t really have an apples to apples comparison with Auburn, Oxford, or even College Station. Hell, I went through Norman a few days ago, and was blown away at how nice and clean campus was. Again, it’s a true college town and BR is not.

Lastly, ghetto culture in general is celebrated, and its grasp has reached Hispanic and White demographics too. Being covered in tats, smoking weed nonstop, and having a brief stint in the jail is practically celebrated.

Gotta have money to go to USC. Have to be Asian to go to UCLA. Stanford.....you ned $$$$$$. Washington is still mostly white. Wazzu is in the middle of nowhere. A brother would have to have a specific need to go to Pullman. Cal has a fair share.

Yes.

Yes. Raise admission standards (including requiring standardized tests [ACT/SAT] and get rid of "holistic admissions."

The ghetto areas around campus are an embarrassment. LSU is the crown jewel of Louisiana and there should never be that kind of squalor around campus. The north side of president streets has always been bad but the trash has spread. Tiger land is a disgrace.

Until Section 8 is abolished the ghetto will keep spreading

The area btw the North gates and downtown has always been been ghetto. McKinley High is there. It was bad when I was there from ‘85-92. NBD.

It’s pretty common for ghettos to be close to college campuses due to white flight.

Tate did a nice job focusing on STEM fields and to be fair LSU also gets a lot of quality OOS kids too that are far from ghetto. I see a mix of good kids and barely functional retards being admitted so something has to give there.

Unfortunately Tate and Edward’s had a crap agenda and lsu will be awful for some time in regards to these issues.

It's gone a little downhill due to a mixture of low admissions standards the past few years and the success of the LSU sports program.

LSU’s best enrollment years and quality of students were all after national championship seasons. When Kiffin gets the ball rolling we will still have record applicants, but obviously we need to be way more selective.

Tate had the right idea to increase revenue by recruiting nationally more, but the group is a mixed batch. LSU still gets way more quality OOS students than it previously did too.

I tend to agree LSU should be 30-33,000 trimming the fat a bit…I can’t imagine LSU being 42,000 now with the infrastructure

From what I’ve seen on here, yes.

Solution: make the requirements more difficult from an academic perspective

Of course there's a solution. Most would like the aftermath of the solution, but nobody is allowed to say the solution in public.

I've told both of my daughters to look at college elsewhere and to not plan on putting down roots in Louisiana. That's about all I have on the subject.

It’s a woke dump. And I say that as an alumni. Perhaps the new administration will clean it up. But I have little hope. I would no more send my kid there then send them to Southern. Too many better options in and out of state to pay top dollar for the ghetto experience and shite education LSU offers a student.

And I tell them so every time they solicit a donation.
