Why would 25% down give you a better auto loan rate? You can get 0% interest almost everywhere with nothing down

All of the banks have “Personal Banking” groups for high net worth folks.

Your car loan scenario is impossible for a bank to compete against 0% interest loans by car manufacturers

I found his financial knowledge/situation a bit suspect for not realizing this. Last few cars I’ve bought, the dealers were bending over backwards to give me basically 0% on any amount or term I wanted.

Absolutely. If you live in Louisiana, Red River Bank. All day.

I’m sure it’s been suggested many times, but if a community bank still exists in your area, that’s who will make you feel like a priority.

My only experience with a Louisiana community bank was South Louisiana Bank. I only dealt with them on the audit side, but they were all great people. I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to them if I lived in LA.

if you're buying new.

not true if you're buying used, which he probably should be doing for his son.

then again he has 7 figures with BofA, but isn't gonna buy the car in cash so IDK wtf he's doing

My investment account brokers take my calls. Always have.

Just after my parents died leaving me unmarried without brothers or sisters, I went to my hometown bank president. I explained I traveled internationally some and a lot within the USA and I had always counted on contacting my parents if I got in trouble.

I needed someone who I could call. He asked my how much trouble could I get in. I answered in a substantial amount, he said, "You're good for that." "Here's my home phone number and direct office number."

That kind of relationship never was needed, but I felt much better knowing it existed.

Yep

Red River does personal banking

So does Home Bank. Call John Zollinger who will get you an account and monitor your credit.
He’ll set you up with a line of credit, mortgage and whatever else you need

I’ll add, frick Capital One. Every bit as big of a cock sucker, POS bank as BOA- based solely on their lack of customer service.

It’s possible to have a personalized relationship with your money manger. I’d think it works at smaller banks too.

Ya know what is better than anything you described? Being able to do all that shite online and not having to have any type of relationship with a banker.

I'd much rather answer a few.questions online than have some ham fisted moron who knows less about finance than I do try to sell me on some heloc or some other bullshite.

Weird, weak, forced 7-figure flex?

Credit union or community bank, weirdo.

Deposits, loans and mortgages at a high enough rate will get you the attention you are seeking. Have a successful business? These business bankers will pretend to be best friends to get your accounts.
