re: Is it ok for men to cry?

I cried a lot after my mom died. I felt like such a pussy. I had to stop crying. It was becoming a problem. So I decided every time I felt like crying, I would drink a Smirnoff Ice.

I felt like crying at work a lot, but whenever I felt it, I'd pull the school bus to the side of the road, pound an ice or two, and get back on the road.

The last time I cried was when my kid(7 years old now) was about 6 months old and I dropped him getting him out of the tub, and he busted his forehead open.


The funny part about it is maybe 3 minutes after it happened, he stopped crying and never cried again the rest of the night even through the CT scan and everything at the hospital.

But 5 hours later, I still couldn't get my shite together to not cry even as everything was confirmed to be ok.

I cried after the flood. I thought we had grabbed all of the important things. Documents, clothes, the dogs, and even a few special items. 3 days later, we are moving from one house to another and my wife asks where my son's baby blanket is. I knew I had thrown it in his bag. Checked... not there. I had forgotten it. We had it at the hospital when he was born. It was hand stitched by my wife's grandmother with areas for visitors to sign: nurses, doctors, family, friends... gone. I lost it then. Broke down hard.

What a dumb question

Depends. At maybe my lowest moment in my adult life, I broke down and cried in a public room full of dozens of strangers. Am not proud of it. I have shed tears over very happy or very sad thoughts before, especially in emotional moments in my life and anyone who has a problem with that can go frick themselves.

I did make my dad cry once. I was 11. We were on trampoline. I jumped up and accidentally head butting him and broke his nose. He leaked about every damn liquid in his head including tears

definitely an acceptable moment. that sucks, man.

On a serious note, yes. But not in public. Be strong around others who lean on you in times of hardship. Then, when alone you le it out for a few seconds then suck it back up and continue being a man.
