Is it just State Farm? 27% increase with no claims or tickets.

Auto insurance went up 27% on all 3 of our vehicles from the past 6 months. Did all insurance companies raise rates this much or is State Farm sticking it to me?
I'm so tired of having to switch insurance companies to get better rates only to have that company raise their rates a year or two later. There has to be a better way...

I have Liberty Mutual. Went down 10% last year when they redid my policy, but went up 21% this year. I called around a few other places and got nothing cheaper so I stayed.
Insurance sucks till you need it.

Sue happy state.
Floods.
Hurricanes.
Roofers filing claims left and right for any and all hailstorms.
What do you expect?

Remember voting for some bill a couple years ago that we were assured would lower our rates. The insurance companies guaranteed it.

I have progressive. Mine dropped slightly this Sept when it renewed. Still about 10-15% higher than what I was paying last year, but was happy to see it go down

Another reason a company vehicle is nice.

It’s not just you, and it’s not just your carrier. It’s happening across the board.
All of those trial lawyer billboards and big judgments are a de facto tax on the population.

Pretty sure it is the state as a whole.

Just wait, I heard from a little birdie that insurance companies and the parish are going to a new roof program…….your roof is going to have to be “certified” by the parish inspectors by them inspecting every step during build/change. Then the roof will have to be inspected by the parish every 5 years for a certificate. If not, you are not covered by the insurance company. I am sure the inspections will be easy to get done and won’t cost much !

Opposite experience for me. Switched to State Farm from Allstate as they were 30% or so cheaper than my previous policies. Located in MS so that is probably the difference.

Turns out that allowing the plaintiff trial lawyers to dominate state politics has consequences. Who knew?
