That said I did pay $150 for Metallica, but hey, it's nostaglia.

I hat with idea of driving and paying for a concert, but I saw Metallica 3 times (6th grade 4 straight hours in the Snakepit tour, summer of ‘96 Lollapaloosa, and at the Cajundome in ‘97. If they’d play nothing but the old shite my old arse would go to a concert for $150 and mosh the whole time!

Nah not worth it for me. I end up forgetting who I’ve seen in concert after a couple years or so anyway.

I always end up checking the set list on my phone and counting down the minutes until it’s over and I get to fight the traffic to get home.

Well they still play newer stuff but it's still worth it. And the newer stuff sounds better live, though I still wouldn't listen to the album.

Same here. I don’t like going to sporting events concerts or anywhere there are congregations of people, traffic or expensive crap beers.

It depends how much do you like listening to live music. Personally I love live music, so I probably go to about 4 concerts a year, and I will go even more once my income gets to a higher level.

If the venue is over a thousand people or so, I would rather not go. Unless it’s a festival with good weather, where I’m more going for the festival than a particular artist.

Seeing someone from the opposite end of an 18k capacity basketball arena has no appeal to me.

Most concerts I go to are still in the $30-$50 range. I love live music, so still very much worth it to me.

I like concerts. I've been to a few I wasn't really a fan of, but enjoyed it. Saw Tim McGraw & Faith Hill and I am not a big country music fan at all.. But it was a good concert.

I like their music more today than I did then, but I remember going to a 3rd Eye Blind concert. Actually had front row tickets. Eve 6 opened up for them and after they finished their base player had come down near where we were and then came by us for the opening of 3rd Eyed Blind and talked with us for a few minutes.

It's about the experience for me.

Only ones worth going to are the ones where you can score some good drugs. Otherwise it will be a weak arse concert.

Huge concerts in stadiums or arenas aren’t for me. Overpriced and overcrowded - much better off staying home & ordering in pay per view if I cared that much. Small venues (House of Blues or preferably smaller) are worth it IMO. Especially if you’re a metal fan.

Agreed. The older I get, the less I want to be stuck in a huge crowd. Smaller venues are best. I'm primarily a metal fan myself; seen a bunch of bands in clubs.

Saw Barenaked Ladies with Hootie and the Blowfish, on the "Group Therapy Tour" at The Wharf, in Orange Beach Thursday. Worth every penny.
Packed house, breeze blowing, pelicans flying in formation overhead and the clouds alternately brightening and dimming the crescent moon.

Perfect.

Orderly crowd, no violence or stupid drunk behavior. Best concert ever.

Why pay that much money to sit so far back and have to watch them on a screen?

The ones I really want to see don't ask an exorbitant price.

If you got the money and time, and you really enjoy the band and music, why not?
