Is going to concerts even worth the money and time?

I understand paying and going if you want to see your favorite artist live, but for someone whom you listen to occasionally and have a few of his/her songs on your playlists, is going to a concert worth the money?

For example, my friends want to see Dierks Bentley next Friday up in Alpharetta. While I like DB and have a few of his songs on my day drinking playlist, I can’t justify Ubering up there and buying $16 beers to listen to What Was I Thinking l live, when I could blast it at my house and get drunk on $.75 beers.

Even with a free ticket as part of my INWEGO app plan, it just doesn’t seem worth it.

If you're not really much of a fan, why would you go?

No it’s not worth it. Same as LSU football. It isn’t worth the time or money when you can watch it in AC on your 72” 4K TV

Not to me, but I’m a homebody.

I put about 6,000 miles a year on my piece of shite SUV.

I saw DB in Pensacola earlier this year. Would recommend seeing him in concert. You just can’t feel the same energy listening to your local fm radio

Why don’t you just drive your mobile home up to the concert, drink cheap beer, listen to it inside and outside your trailer, then you decide.

Not anymore. Ticketmaster fees, and their subsidiaries, are too much to justify the price for me. I mostly don't go out of principle.

It obviously depends on personal preference. Live music is one of my favorite leisure activities, even when I don’t know the artist, so it’s worth it for me.

I’ve got box seats to Hootie and the Blowfish in two weeks.

I’m psyched. Definitely worth it.

And he said DB like we're supposed to know who that is. Reminds me of ESPN with all their abbreviations

Huge concerts in stadiums or arenas aren’t for me. Overpriced and overcrowded - much better off staying home & ordering in pay per view if I cared that much.

Small venues (House of Blues or preferably smaller) are worth it IMO. Especially if you’re a metal fan.

It's great to be able to see some huge international metal bands for $25 still. Saw Behemoth in Atlanta a year ago for that cheap. The tshirt cost more than the ticket. And the new Masquerade in Atlanta is amazing for these shows. I cant think of all the amazing bands I've seen for so cheap.

That said I did pay $150 for Metallica, but hey, it's nostaglia.

It's not worth going to most concerts of bands you do like. Why pay that much money to sit so far back and have to watch them on a screen? My couch and surround sound system are just as good.
