Yeah. I'm on my second time around. First time was very frustrating. This time it's fantastic. Three years under the same roof, married for some of that, very happy. Lots of trust. Extremely low conflict. I am really thankful.

Wife and I have a much better relationship now than when we were dating. Back then we broke up almost every day, got married, argued badly first couple years. Last 20 years or so hardly ever fight, communicate well, and enjoy each other's presence. I can't imagine life without her.

just remember, you typically aren't going to hear about the happy ones. People generally don't start threads about their happy lives.

25 years of marriage here. First 5 or so were tough. We had kids early and not a lot of family support. We fought through it.

a lot of it is just the age old schtick of being miserable attached to the old ball and chain, imo, I hope we don't have that many miserable fricks on here

Just hit 40 years with the same women. It's been great, there have been a few "moments", but all in all, it's been great.

I'm happy with my wife and family and very blessed to be. It helps if you do a LOT of research into who you're marrying. We lived together for almost 2 years prior and I would recommend it to anyone looking to get hitched.

It's a lot better than being married to that bitch Carol Baskin.

25 years married and nearly 29 together. We are still in love and we are happy.

It does take work, from both parties.

I met my husband when we were Freshmen at LSU in 1987. Got married after college and will celebrate our 30 year anniversary in January. We're nearly empty nesters and are looking forward to that next chapter. We've had normal ups and downs, but I'm glad we both hung in there. I think it helps that we both have a weird sense of humor and the same goals in life.

We've been married 52 years, 2 children, 5 grands. I won the lottery, wonderful wife and family, beautiful home, comfortable retirement. We were empty nesters by 47 and the kids are having successful careers, one is uber-successful.

We've had some issues in the last year with health and hurricane damage, but my wife and I take care of each other when injury or illness strikes.

Kind of glad we're old, I don't like what I see for people like us in the future. Hope the kids manage.

Lotta bitter baws because their wives won’t let them leave Louisiana.

There's probably a lot of truth to this post. Women in Louisiana simply cannot break free of the chains to seek a better life outside of the shithole that is Louisiana. It's like some viscous family cycle that can't be broken. They're told that you can't leave your family and they listen to them rather than their husband.

I've heard so many stories like this from South Louisiana.
