re: How is New Orleans right now? - MissTiger91
If you have been to NOLA before and you want to come for a relaxing weekend
That's exactly what we're wanting to do. We have a long weekend and want to stay in a nice hotel (some of the rates look great), eat somewhere fun, and visit a few shops. We're not looking to have the tradi...

How is New Orleans right now? - MissTiger91
Are most things open in New Orleans right now? I'm sure you have to mask up and socially distance of course, but are most restaurants open? Shops in the FQ? Thanks!...

Recs for Queen Elizabeth bio - MissTiger91
I've recently gotten into "The Crown" on Netflix (I know I'm late to the party), but it's piqued my interest in Queen Elizabeth. Can anyone recommend a good bio on her? Thanks!...

re: Vintage children’s book set - MissTiger91
Was it the Childhood of Famous Americans series?? Yes! I think that was the set. Now I can remember reading Clara Barton, Betsy Ross, and Daniel Boone. Did you read them too or were you just lucky with the Google?...

Vintage children’s book set - MissTiger91
I’m trying to remember a book set I had when I was a kid, about 5 or 6 years old (I’m 50 now). It was a set of 15-20 books, each one was about an American historical figure. The books were blue and probably under 100 pages. The ones I can remember were Martha Washington, Andrew Jackson, and Francis ...

re: Looking to start a Brit show: Broadchurch vs Line of Duty - MissTiger91
I've been on a Brit kick too... The Five, The Stranger, and Safe. I often find myself confused when the detectives don't pull a gun. How ingrained is the detective's sidearm in our American psyches?...
Wayne Brady as Burr.
I saw Wayne Brady as Burr and Miguel Cervantes as Hamilton. Both were incredible. It was mind-boggling that I could get a flight to Chicago, a ticket, and half of a room for the price of 1 Broadway ticket ...

The Stranger on Netflix - MissTiger91
Netflix suggested "The Stranger" based on the book by Harlan Coben. Has anyone seen it? I'm halfway through and it's fantastic. Lol, it has the old Irish maid from Downton Abbey as the lead detective. Edited to fix author’s name UPDATE: Thanks y'all for suggesting the other 2 shows by this au...

re: Dispatches from Pluto - MissTiger91
Thanks, I've wondered about all this. After reading it I thought it might be fun to take a road trip up through the Delta. Where's a good place to eat at up there?...

re: Hamilton - MissTiger91
because we saw it in NYC and can honestly say that it was the best going out viewing experience we’ve ever had (movies, play, standup show, etc).
Same here. We saw it in Chicago. And while that cast was fantastic, I've always wanted to see it with the original Broadway cast. I'm l...
Disney is censoring the use of f*** during the performance and will have a PG-13 rating.
Lol, Lin-Manuel Miranda said he had to give up 2 of the 3 f's to get under the PG-13 wire. But he was able to keep all of the shits in ...

Dispatches from Pluto - MissTiger91
I'm currently reading Dispatches from Pluto by Richard Grant. Although I'm currently living in MS, I'm not a native. The book is very entertaining, but are the perspectives he writes about the Delta true? I've never been to the Delta and I'm stunned the extreme poverty and the stark contrasts betwee...

Rx for arthritis - MissTiger91
I have arthritis in my hands and hip. The rheumatologist has ruled out rheumatoid arthritis with bloodwork and an MRI, so it's just good old fashioned osteoarthritis. I've tried Celebrex, Diclofenac, Duexis, Mobic, and Voltaren (cream). What is left to try? Has anyone had success with anything else?...

re: Chronic incapacitating headaches/migraines - MissTiger91
For years I was on a preventive "cocktail" of magnesium (800mg), CO Q10 (150mg) and Metoprol (25mg). It worked well and I was down to about 1 migraine a month, at which time I took Imitrex. All of that gradually quit working, and then after my hysterectomy I was back to square 1. Fast forward to ...
I had a wonderful trip for next week booked to Chicago: Sox & Cubs tickets, museums, FL Wright homes tours, River trip, and more
That does sound like a good trip. Those are all of my favorite things to do in Chicago :wah: I don't feel comfortable flying just yet, so I thought a g...
