Same reason that people are still getting boosted.

The powers that be truly gaslighted everyone in an attempt to make them extremely scared of COVID. For many, masking was how they coped with the risk. They accepted it as protection.
Or maybe countries around the world were stacking up dead bodies of folks who died from that crap. It was pretty obvious something bad was going on.

I think some people still wear them because they're socially awkward.

However you describe it, there's no debating that some people were able to, over time, logically recognize the risk, and deal with the fear, and some people weren't.
Those that still wear masks are largely in the latter group.

It was also pretty obvious to anyone caring to be objective and rational that the cotton or paper masks that accounted and still account for 99% of worn masks were worthless and would not play any role in determining whether or not you became one of those bodies or not. Comorbidities however, and the shunning of any kind of treatment prior to hospitalization and being hooked up to a vent (which of course Phizer is just now peddling their treatment meds since they've maxed out their vax recipients), did.

Hell, i had to go into the social security office this week and was surprised you HAD to wear a mask to be admitted inside. I know, government building, but come on. We are so far removed from this shite.

worn masks were worthless
What makes you think that?

Because it's like trying to keep sand in a box made of chicken wire.

I’ve wondered this. Why do they still do it?
People are doing Covid fear anymore.

It’s the people that make their small children wear masks that are the real assholes.

Nope.

I don’t know about that.

Are you being serious? Biden's new covid czar admitted it. Numerous studies show the ineffectiveness of those masks. Mainstream media outlets have even conceded this by this point.

I don’t understand the fear in wearing masks either but I also could care less if other people wear masks as long as the government isn’t mandating it.

Some people are having problems with allergies right now. The pollen is already ridiculous.
Some people have asthma and are trying to not contract other crud going around.
Some people have new grandbabies they would like to see and do not want to contaminate them.
Some people are immunocompromised.
There are a multitude of reasons why people want to mask up.
Why does this bother you? How about STFU and mind your own business?

If somebody else wants to mask, what do I care? Just don’t tell me I have to wear one

Had a grown man in a truck pull up and roll his window down yesterday to ask me a question in the parking lot of my office and when I get close enough to hear him he is wearing a mask. A full blown surgical mask in the truck by himself. I couldn’t take the guy seriously, I laughed and walked off

The same people in this thread arguing for a laissez-faire approach to masks were by and large the same folks who 100% supported the mask mandates when it was politically palatable. These phony libertines wanted you in jail for disobeying.
