Exactly, NBR isn't some island in the south pacific.
The nearest grocery store to me is 4-5 miles away and I somehow manage to get there. Crazy, I know

What are we supposed to do in this scenario anyway? Put a grocery store every square mile? We don't have the population density to support them and most would fold.

Walmart does pickup orders now.
Virtually no excuse for not having "access" to any kind of food any other person in the parish has.

I think this is a wonderfully inclusive idea.
And be sure to fully staff it with enlightened, woke team members from California and/or Austin.
Come and get you some.

They'd be much better off trying to get an arrangement with Dollar General or Family Dollar to put produce in the dozens of existing locations.

I guess that guy was just taking the old jingle to the next level...
“Hi Nabor be a money saver”, especially if you just take shite and walk out.

Does it count as fruit if you grab Strawberry Margarita beer and various fruity wine coolers?

I find the SNAP discussion very interesting.
I have no qualms with SNAP, if only because of the kids. I also have no qualms with the amount that a family may be entitled to - $646.00 / family of 4 / month seems reasonable.
However, I am not certain why SNAP isn't limited to certain items. At Albertson's, you can use SNAP on Sushi or boiled seafood, which has the lowest money:benefit ratio of anything in the store. If the end goal is to ensure that underprivileged children are fed, why do we switch to a libertarian viewpoint when it comes to how the money is spent by recipients?
Moreover, to the extent that such persons are likely also on Medicaid, don't we have a vested interest in ensuring that SNAP recipients are taking in the right amount of nutrients?
In short, I'm always interested in the point when socialism stops and libertarianism begins. If we pay for healthcare in Medicare / Medicaid, why can't we tell those recipients how to live?

Kaneitra Johnson falsely accused Judge Mike Erwin of using the "N-word" against her. She had a record for stealing. She said something like---no big deal everyone has a record
No they don't Keneitra, you fricking idiot.
Armed robber shot and killed. Family blames the clerk, saying he shouldn't have weapon at work.
LOL
Thoughts and the reasoning behind their thoughts is why racism today towards shitty sub-human people is now more prevalent then ever.

Almost as if Chris Rock did a whole routine on this shite.
“I ain’t never been to jail!”
“You ain’t SUPPOSED to, ya low expectation-having motherfricker!”

To be fair, Food desert is an accurate term for rural areas and suburb communities that has very limited options for grocery stores and restaurants.
That is indeed fair and accurate but we both know the only time it's used by politicians is to describe high crime areas in a way that blames the absence of the grocery chains as part of the reason for the high crime rate rather than the other way around.

And without addressing other issues as well.
If an area isn’t buying fresh produce, why bring a ton of it in there? It’s heavily perishable by nature, which means it is a waste of money if people aren’t going to buy it.
People aren’t excluding it from their diet because it is hard to get or expensive, they are excluding it because they don’t want to fricking eat it.

SWB is why St. G passed. Most all black voters will only vote for their own race regardless of whether that candidate is best qualified. SWB will continue to make bad & stupid decisions.

Google "corporate welfare," then google "big oil companies in Louisiana destroy coastline and don't pay for it," then perhaps dole out some of your moral outrage in those directions.
Well start a thread on it and I’ll agree with you. What oil has done to the coastline is a disgrace.
But why does that mean I should support this nonsense?

I'm sure if one had the time and resources to do so, they'd find a questionable connection between SWB (or her close associates) and Mr. Bill Bynum. I won't say more but follow the money. If you find it odd that a company headquartered in Jackson, MS (whose building has no signage) gets a 2 million dollar contract from the City of Baton Rouge, it probably is.
quote:
Hope Enterprise Corporation was involved in a similar racket in New Orleans around 2010. In short, these "food oasis" stores pop up as a result of the grant money, stay open for a short period of time, then close as a result of "unforeseeable economic circumstances." The store owners throw untraceable cash back to the organizer (in this case, Mr. Bynum) and pocket the rest. Those involved drive Range Rovers and live in million-dollar homes, but the taxpayers are left holding the 7-figure bill.
Google Maps
This is a very interesting bit of posting by Mr. MarkFromBuffalo.
I wish that I could think of a way to bring this tidbit of information into a more public conversation. It would be very interesting to ask the Mayor about this specifically and to ask her if she thinks these type things may have had an impact on why St. George happened.
She'd just deny everything and say there is no connection, but it's straight up thievery of public funds. She knows it, we know it, and absolutely nothing is going to change it and the 100 other examples of it.

That Jackson credit union also gives immigration law advice on it’s webpage. Total liberal loony bin.
