Important changes to 11th annual Pride Night York ball game. The players wont play

"It is with great disappointment and that the York Revolution have issued important changes to our 11th Annual Pride Night on Thursday, June 18th. Most significantly, the scheduled game between York and Southern Maryland will not be played and Pride will still be hosted as a free admission event," the club said in a statement.
"This decision was not reached lightly. Unfortunately, several of our players have refused to wear the scheduled Pride Night jersey and the club decided that hosting the event is more important than forcing players to wear jerseys they are not comfortable with and playing the game."
"As a result, and out of respect for the Pride Community and the York community as a whole, the York Revolution has decided that the game on Thursday, June 18 will be forfeited and that Pride Night will continue on as the feature element of the evening at WellSpan Park.

What even sport are these teams from?

So celebrating pride became more important to a baseball organization than actually playing baseball? Interesting times we’re living in.

Good for the players.
Bout time players are starting to grow a pair and go against this shite being shoved down our throats.

Reminds me of the scheduled June 26th pride game in the World Cup between Iran and Egypt
(both teams requested the separate pride component be cancelled).

Couldn't cancel the pride portion and just play baseball because then they'd be bigots.

Minor league baseball. Good for those players.
I can't help but think that most of the MLB players are not happy about being forced to wear this crap either. The players union should make a stand.

Not sure if I “love to see this”. The pride event should have been cancelled. Not the game. That’s ridiculous

Glad to see more and more people standing up and speaking out against this garbage.
It's absolutely absurd for a baseball team to be more concerned with holding a gay pride event than actually playing baseball game, when those are the two options presented. fricking clown world.

In his stand-up routine, Norm Macdonald often humorously questioned the sentiment behind parents holding signs that read "We are proud of our gay son" at parades, contrasting this with traditional achievements, as he noted, "It's not like something you work all your life to be gay or anything like that,"Hey Bill, you know my kid? Oh my god we're proud of him, Johnny. He graduated from Harvard, you know, first in his class, and, oh yeah, he loves cock."

That’s exactly how you stop that nonsense.
If players would stand against any and all political BS that is being pushed into the game, all that would stop.

Baseball over here. Pride over there.
I respect both. Separately.
Those baseball players have their own pride. Celebrate that. Also separately.

So rather than playing in non gay uniforms and having the pride night, they just forfeited the game?
