Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has released crash test ratings for the current crop of 2019 pickup trucks and many of the vehicles didn’t do so well.
The 2019 Ford F-150, Nissan Titan and Ram 1500 are the only three trucks to earn a top-tier good rating in both the passenger- and driver-side small overlap front test. The Chevy Silverado scored a good rating on the driver side and a marginal rating on the passenger side with the same marks given to the GMC Sierra.
The Toyota Tundra did the worst of all 11 trucks tested, managing a marginal rating on the driver side and a poor rating on the passenger side.

Tundra not performing well with respect to its peers is nothing shocking.

How is the Ridgeline the top saftey pick if the F150 has better ratings across the board?
Also, how is the Ridgeline considered a "Large Pickup"?

Pretty much all new cars outside of lemons are reliable if maintenance is done. But I get why Tundra owners need to justify their purchase.

The Ridgeline is the only truck out of the 11 though to qualify for the IIHS Top Safety Pick designation thanks to good-rated headlights

Just illustrates how bogus these awards are.

No danger of wrecking when it lives in the shop at the dealership.

All those safety features don’t mean anything if your POS dodge won’t start
Also, FWIW, the new titans are absolutely hideous

How much did Ford pay to get those ratings so they can keep it in their commercial?

GMC Sierra owner.....no passengers, no problems

Its not a award, it is the result of actual crash testing, funded by the insurance companies who have a vested interest in knowing how safe a particular vehicle is. There is no reason for them to be biased in their findings, inaccurate results would be detrimental to their profits.
