Also, how is the Ridgeline considered a "Large Pickup"?

The ridgeline's lowest curb weight is higher than either the f-150 or the siverado. Oddly the Tundra is the heaviest by a good margin.

HD trucks don’t have to pass crash tests / aren’t tested.

The amount of jerking off truck owner do over "their brand" always cracks me up. Having a preference is fine but stop acting like the brand you drive is vastly superior to the others. The truck that gets top marks from Consumer Reports seems to cycle between the brands every year.

Not shocked.

Why the hell should any full-sized pickup ever get a "marginal" or a "fail" in a crash test?

Unless maybe they force rank the vehicles and some always get lower ratings...

Fords are just pieces of shite, and no self-respecting man trusts consumer reports for anything

Big and heavy does not mean increased safety for the passengers.

" Most pickups will always be at a crash test disadvantage because of the way they’re built, said Jack Gillis of the Center for Auto Safety and publisher of The Car Book.

“Trucks have often tended to be more rigid and stronger than passenger cars and as a result do not collapse as easily in the event of a frontal collision,” Gillis said. “They end up transferring that energy back into the passenger compartment.”

This is fundamental and not always intuitive to understanding autocrash safety risks.

The Toyota Tundra did the worst of all 11 trucks tested, managing a marginal rating on the driver side and a poor rating on the passenger side.

Probably because the Tundra hasn't gone through a redesign since 2007. Same with the Sequoia.

It amazes me, the most likely way anyone under 50? is going to die is in a vehicle crash, but so few people make that the number one decision in purchasing.
