Exactly what vehicles are you looking at that cost $30k new? The price of an average vehicle in 2022 was over $48k.

What’d you get? Off the lot or was it ‘ordered’ for you?

4Runner TRD PRO. Had to put a deposit, and wait. Hit the dealership 5 weeks later.

Cool. 5 weeks, that means it was already in transit. I’d feel a lot better about my dealer deposit if they actually had one coming.

Did you get to pick the color, or we’re you just happy with what was on the way?

ETA: I was to call, a dealership outside of St Louis, to finalize my +$2k>MSRP ‘deal’ and I cannot get in touch with him. Lol. Guess I’ll wait until tomorrow to scour the country again.

Low-balled a 2023 GMC Terrain from here in Baton Rouge. You're going to see those $48k prices come down quite a bit over the next year-ish.

yeah, keep waiting, mine will be next to nothing in a few years, when I get rid of it.

Been getting these emails from CarFax all through Covid. I graphed the ones that I did not delete.

I took a $13,000 bath from the high to the low in December 2022.

Looking for my daughter one right now...16th birthday is in a few weeks. I hate this. I have a company car so it's been years since I negotiated buying a car...now I remember how bad it is.

I am wanting a new truck, but keep holding off until prices really drop. I do believe it will happen soon.

You probably don't understand how taxi companies did it to themselves either huh?

carvana
carmax

Will probably go out of business soon.

Are ordinary people gonna start selling cars like Uber turned them into taxi drivers? Ordinary people already sell cars. The car sale isnt over after the purchase, its just beginning. Service after the sale is just as or more important and thats something a fancy app will never be able to do.

Gasoline is already increasing. Expectations are $4 before the swap to summer blends with last year's highs being another distinct possibility (possibly topping those highs, depending on what happens between now and then). If this happens, the prices on trucks are going to plummet.

Does it have all sorts of options you didn’t want…because giving a deal on that stuff is what we always fought. $6500 of options to give you $2k off.

Been noticing the dealership lots have a lot more cars on them than even a few months ago. I think things will turn quick in the next year and prices will really go down. Of course, if you have a trade in, that will also go way down too.

This is good news. I have been holding off going on three years to replace my wife's (no pics) shite box car because of this.
