Of course keep working. It would be much easier now to make your day exactly as you want it, but our purpose and drive in life doesn’t come from the compensation, it comes from the process on getting there.

You can bang all the whores, all the chartered fishing trips, all the back porch sitting on hour new private ranch, etc, but will feel empty inside without having purpose.

If you are really stupid with your money ,but yeah an 18 year old can easily live off of the for the rest of thier life and never have to work. Some of you say the most retarded shite when it comes to money.

I've only got 2 yrs 8 months to go in a job I enjoy. It'll give me a retirement check every month and health care for life. I'm staying.

T-Bills are paying 5% right now, so that's $250K/year without touching the principal. If you can't live on $250K, you have a spending problem.

No. But I'm not working right now. So there's that.

Same here. I've been retired for several years now and loving it and an additional 5 mil would go a very long way to allow me to do a lot of the things I could not otherwise do with my current pension situation.

Not that I'd blow it frivolously, but I would enjoy it while still being smart about it.

I would retire and invest the 5 mil and live off of the interest. Already have a mil retirement and VA disability so a no-brainer for me.

I’d definitely keep working at my age. Terrible look for my kids to see dad not doing anything all day (in my opinion). But I’d absolutely not be doing the job I’m doing now haha. I’d find me something cushy, low stress, with lots of time off.

Hell no. I calculated it. If my wife and I didn't change a thing, and both quit our jobs, 5 million would carry me into my 80's. So yea, frick this job. I'd do some little side gig like cutting grass, or property maintenance.

I already have about 5 and I’m not excited about giving up my salary to retire. But everyone says if you only pull money out at 4% of your portfolio value then you’ll be fine

I'd work for up to the end of the year so my company can find a replacement and let me train them. I really like where I work though, and it's a small company that's like family. I may even decide to work until my kids graduate high school, at least on a part time basis. It's not work if you do what you love with good people.
