Bring back the Shreveport Captains in a new ballpark and get affiliated with the San Francisco Giants again. I'd also sponsor the Independence bowl and move up the chain by building a modern stadium and paying out big bucks.

I'd like to see the hwy 190/22 corridor spruced up, beautified, landscaped, etc. Basically a smaller version of the Boulevard Project in Houston.
Although, I'm sure Mandeville could afford this on their own...

Improve areas with natural resources. We have tons of waterfront and that could be enhanced.
Build a nice resort that would draw visitors to utilize that waterfront as well as the downtown.
In older town, I would put Hanging planters on each corner
Flower beds along the street sides
Plant dozens of savannah hollies Along the main thoroughfare and put white light display in them during the holidays

By my estimation, you could buy the entire area for roughly 30 million, development costs are variable.

Collierville, TN is already pretty nice in its own right. I’d build a Buc’ee’s, a Costco, and a couple of more sports bars. And a brewery. Gentrify the one area that has culcha. And I’d give it Amtrak train service from Memphis to DC via Chattanooga and Knoxville.

I’m from White Castle. No way I’d step foot in White Castle with Bezos money. I took my wife, born and raised in Franklin TN, through there once and she had a panic attack. Loved Nottoway though.

I would build pedestrian bridges all along Metairie Road so people could cross without worrying about traffic. Plus fix up the sidewalks and facades of a lot of buildings, get stuff rezoned, buy the crappy stuff and repurpose it, and put barriers or curbs between the road and the stores. Then I would buy land behind Oscars/Zocolo and make a parking lot so the one on Metairie Road could be fixed up and made into outdoor dining and shopping. The area from Bonnabel to Causeway could be a great walkable area.

I would set up a venture capital firm for local entrepreneurs. I would also pay local teenagers to pick up litter and fund an internship program (a lot of people don't realize how a high teenage unemployment rate is so detrimental to society).

Diamond Dog and I have the same idea. But I have talked about it with a couple of comm. real estate agents here in the area and they seemed to be receptive to the idea. Basically buy up all the land north of W. Roosevelt,between I-10 and the river and turn it into a research park for LSU along with housing for the students. It was tried once before along Corporate and Jefferson Hwy with CAMD, but that became Whole Foods instead. I also like the idea of remaking Tigerland into a Mediterranean type town. Then I would buy part of the Texas panhandle and move there.
