To be fair, there’s lots of Catholics out there that are Catholic in name only. As in they grew up as such so it’s culturally important but don’t practice the religion at all so things like beliefs don’t matter

My opinion isn’t influenced by relation to the victim. Once convicted, take them out the back of the courtroom and have them face the wall for the firing squad, ran by ai, to do its work.

Murder. Without a doubt. Some form of negligence leading to the death. No but jail.
I believe in the death penalty 100%. If it was a family member murdered, I would probably want a slow miserable form of death. The Mongolian box.

There are so many different circumstances that would determine this.
That being said, there are people who, simply by their actions, forfeit their right to live.
As I get older, I try to be a better Christian, but because of how awful a Christian I’ve been for most of my life, it’s hard.
But this is one opinion that even a hardened faith will have a hard time changing.

I want the death penalty for all killers and rapists and child molesters. Whether they are related to me or not.

There's so many variables it's hard to say but I will say if it was a cold blood/random violence/armed robbery situation where my loved one was totally innocent I'd probably want to do it myself but MAYBE my conscious would get the better of me due to that being an iffy move for a Christian
The problem for all the people who say "no bc I'd rather them rot in jail for most of their lives" is that they often DONT spend the rest of their lives in jail. In fact they are likely to be out in 12-15 years, some even sooner than that and that's ignoring whatever attempt at an insanity plea there might be. Then they are walking free and that's the worst outcome for everyone

Forgiveness is for the forgiver. Not for the forgiven. Just because one is forgiven, it does not relieve them of the accountability of justice.

The death penalty for murder is older than the Law repeated inside the Law never touched by anything that cancels the Law and picked back up in the New Testament as the states job not the individuals. Jesus even said God gave governments authority to carry out justice and its clear biblically what justice is for murder. When someone says we dont get to decide when someone dies thats true for you and me as private citizens. The Bible specifically puts government in a different category with different responsibilities and authority.
Im open to changing my mind if you can point to a verse that says the state doesnt have the right to carry out earthly justice via execution.

I don't support the death penalty because the person who administers the death then themselves becomes a murderer. Committing murder is a crime, but it's not a crime for the government to legally kill the person who committed the murder. Murder is murder, even when it's government sanctioned as punishment.
