It's actually borderline insane to suggest people do that.
This whole thing is fantasy world. Its easy for people to suggest all of the stay home ideas when they arent affected. The governor is still getting paid so of course he wants you to stay at home indefinitely. I guarantee you that if all of those people calling to stay home and shut down stop getting paid, they would change their tune

Quarantining for 14 days after a negative test doesn't seem sensible. If I came in contact with someone who tested positive and I subsequently tested negative then I'd try to social distance as much as practical (not go to social gatherings, not go restaurants/bars, pick up grocies to go instead of going in) but I'd still go to work and keep living a semi normal life. Full quarantine for that is redic. I'd also only do that for 14 days from contact with the infected person

My doctor told me the test has a 30% false negative rate, do they advise still quarantining for 10 days from onset of symptoms even if it shows negative.
I didn't have strong symptoms and really feel better already, strongly doubt I have covid, so I'll probably go back to my life once I get a negative back.

To answer the question, no I wouldn't quarantine after a negative test.
Not really applicable anyway because I have no reason to test at all. Even if I felt sick, a positive test doesn't change how I'd treat myself. I don't interact with anyone who is high risk, so there's no legitimate reason for me to need the knowledge that I have it.
I work completely alone. So quarantine for me just means not meeting my friends for dinner or going to the store for a little bit. Hardly a massive sacrifice enough to bother with getting tested. I'd just not do those things for 10 days.

If I test negative, hell no I'm not going into quarantine. My daughter was tested because she was sick. Running a very high fever, sore throat, and vomiting. Tested for strep, flu, and covid. The covid test took 2 days to get results and we were instructed to quarantine the entire household until the results came back. Came back negative and the doctor said there's no reason to keep up the quarantine.
Whoever said to do 14 days even if negative sounds like a complete idiot.

Yeah it's gonna vary by individual. I've been going to gym classes and seeing clients in person with masks and all, and seeing some family, but still.. I'm putting plenty of others in the crosshairs if I am too careless about symptoms.

Newsflash: The virus isn't going to just disappear. I have a feeling it'll magically be a lot less fatal on November 5 if Biden wins, but viruses don't just go away and a legitimate vaccine will probably be several years away. By legitimate, I mean a vaccine that has been properly produced and tested as opposed to rushed into production.
