No it doesn't. They are finding out every day there are more and more high risk situations. Kidney disease, cystic fibrosis, pregnancy, asthma, none of that actually equates to just the old and fat.

The reasoning is that often people will test negative for the first few days after exposure, but then will test positive after about 7-14 days because they start to become symptomatic. This has happened more than people think. They are exposed, immediately go get tested, negative, then a few days later get symptoms and test positive. There's just not enough there that early to test positive.
Regardless, if I tested negative I wouldn't quarantine.
That is his reasoning, but he's living in a fantasy world asking people to quarantine with a negative test, no symptoms, and only because they were around someone who tested positive.
It's actually borderline insane to suggest people do that.

They are less accurate than nasal swab and there is a sizable period between infection and reflection in that type of test. To steal a phrase used a lot lately, the goal posts keep moving on these types of tests.

Day 15 go to work.
Day 20 ... come into contact; quarantine another 14 days.
Day 35 go back to work.
day 37 ... come into contact; quarantine another 14 days.

For most people it takes several days to get the results back anyway. So you have already covered the days by the time you get your result. If it's negative there is absolutely no reason to continue to quarantine.
Now there are those rapid tests that get you the results in hours, but those are not so easy to come by.

I got my rapid test results back in 20 mins yesterday evening at Lake After Hours on Perkins near Siegen.

I was basing this on my MIL’s test timeline. She was tested late Monday and got results late Tuesday. So personally, in that situation, I would probably just quarantine for the rest of the week.
