Wait until AI can do on demand pricing. Knowing based off your purchase history how much you are willing to spend. You'll never get a "deal" again. I can see it now. You see an airline deal for a one way trip for $100. You go to their website and log in and suddenly it's $150 as the AI will determine you'll still pay it.
This is already done.
In a limited fashion yes, but I mean it will become much more widespread. You'll have Walmart's and McDonald's determining your price based off your purchase history, income and demographic factors.
That's my point, you won't be able to escape it. Right now it's still relatively isolated and easy to avoid.

I was wondering the other day how Shake Shack stays open in Metairie. The prices are outrageous, food is not that good, and it’s difficult to get into and out of the location.

Not fully buying into the price changing due to not tipping.
Odd that they did not show the same transaction price while selecting a tip.
Also odd that there seems to be no other videos of this happening. I would guess that Internet fame seekers would be rushing out the door to record this happening...with that said, this price update message did happen to me several weeks ago. I forgot where and did not notice any price change though I did not really make an attempt.

That’s when I cancel the whole order and go to the fast food joint next door.
Almost all of the airport resturants in the US are run by either HMS Host or OTG. You can go next door, but you're still giving money to the same people.

Why are they asking for a tip when you order on a kiosk and throw away your own garbage?
Do you not understand the amount of effort that it takes to make three shakes and walk them to the counter? With all the kiosks, they don’t even take your order in person anymore. Nope, I won’t be guilted/pressured into tipping a person who is already fully compensated for their job.

You could always just tip

It does feel like this would be getting reported much more if it was happening Company wide over all Shake Shack's.
Almost makes me want to go by a Shake Shack about 10 miles from me and try it. See if it does the same for me. I'm with others, if this is true I would walk out and never frequent Shake Shack again. And I would do that for any established that does this.

Why would I ever tip at a restaurant where I key in the order myself and all they did was prep the food? Not happening.

Tip for what exactly? I'm taking my own order, picking up my own food and taking my own food to the trash. There is literally nothing about the experience that would justify a tip.

Absolutely not.

That sounds like an airport thing. Not shake shack. Airports are such a racket when it comes to food especially

That’s called internal gratitude. It’s programmed to automatically change the prices

There’s too many options these days. Crap like this or, oh yeah, there’s a percent charge to pay by card.
Oh, see ya.
Oh, see ya.

Didn't have this issue at the Shake Shack kiosk at MSY last week. Maybe it was a localized issue.

The counter to this bullshite with many companies now is to just STOP BUYING THEIR PRODUCT. You can find other options.
