The cop reacted to remove a hostile person who was within a reasonable distance to potentially do harm or disarm him. I don’t know how cops are trained to respond but this is about what I would expect if I did this to a cop LINK

I miss the days when people got arrested, and we didn’t have to see or hear about it.

He definitely could have pushed her back away from him... she was absolutely encroaching on his personal space of feeling unthreatened and safe...

He *probably* shouldn’t have resorted to the open hand so quickly, but you can tell that broad has been slapped hard like that before.

People think that they can act anyway to the PD and not have consequences. For the officer to be relieved of his duties was a SJW move.
Things like this are why LEO numbers are declining. Cities and States have literally handcuffed LEO to have to take abuse that no one else would.

Should have taken her into custody and charged her. Should not have slapped her like that. If she resisted the arrest, then you get to use some force but outright slapping someone is a nope.

Will she, or will she not think twice about acting like that to a cop again? Slap was warranted and deserved.

Imagine if every dumbass in Portland would have had their faces smashed every now and then. I wonder if there would still be riots.

Since I am white, me and cops usually share a beer after I approach them aggressively

Florida is a stand your ground state. NOBODY, including a cop, is under any obligation to back away if they are not committing a crime and are legally entitled to be where they are.

Generally, with use of force, the force has to be 1) warranted and 2) reasonable in intensity.

If the woman made contact, a response is absolutely warranted. At that point, the response has to be reasonable to the threat level. That's the sticky part. Whether slapping the taste out of her mouth was a reasonable level of response is where they're going to try to nail this guy.

But without phones we’d never have this priceless video to enjoy.
